Are you a Senegalese university student between the ages of 18 to 30 years old? If so, the World Bank wants you to have your say on some of the most pressing development challenges in your country.
The World Bank office in Senegal invites you to share your ideas for how to boost inclusive development in one of the following areas: agriculture, energy, or tourism. Enter the #Blog4Dev contest and you could win a two month youth project monitor position at the World Bank office in Dakar.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the #Blog4Dev contest in Senegal, you must:
- Be a Senegalese citizen
- Be currently living in Senegal
- Be between the ages of 18 and 30
- Be a registered university student with proof of registration
- Current World Bank Group staff members, their family members and consultants are not eligible
Selection Criteria
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of World Bank staff in Senegal to determine the winning entries.
The winning submissions will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Originality
- Creativity
- Clarity and practical messages
Prizes
- The writer of the winning blog for each sector (agriculture, energy, tourism) will win a paid two month internship as a youth project monitor at the World Bank office in Senegal.
- The three winning blogs will be published on the WBG’s Nasikiliza blog page, and also promoted on World Bank social media channels between July and August 2016. These will be credited to the respective bloggers.
Terms and Conditions
- Submissions must be original and well-written
- Submission deadline is June 30, 2016. Late submissions will be disqualified automatically
- The blog post length should be at most 700 words. Longer entries will be disqualified.
- Entries will be accepted in French or in English.
- Only one submission per entrant will be allowed.
