The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition 2024 for Young People Worldwide.

by OFA

Application Deadline: August 31st 2024!

Applications are now open for the 2024 Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition. The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) aims to empower entrepreneurs – especially young ones – to work for a more peaceful and sustainable world. Participants are invited to submit their ideas and projects with social impact and to make a concrete commitment to one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to implement them. The 17 goals for sustainable development address the most important social, economic, environmental and health challenges of our time. The submissions are divided into two categories: idea and project. Entrepreneurs from 13 years old are invited to submit their idea or project to participate in the CEC.

The competition takes place in three phases. In the first phase, entrepreneurs submit their idea/project with a short pitch. If their idea/project meets the competition criteria, they are invited to complete the courses and work on their Entrepreneurial Design. For this purpose, we have developed a special Entrepreneurial Design Canvas (EDC). After completing the courses, participants can submit their completed EDC for phase 2. In this phase all ideas and projects will be published and the participants can vote and collect votes. The 10 submissions with the most votes will move on to the third phase, where an expert jury will select the winners. The winners will be announced at the CEC award ceremony, which takes place in an online ceremony.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Entrepreneurs from 13 years old are invited to submit their idea or project to participate in the CEC.
  • You are welcome to register as a team. The requirement is that each team member has their own campus account. One team member can create the idea/project in the user area and add the other team members to the idea/project. In this way, the same idea/project will appear in the profiles of all team members.
  • There is not a limit to the number of a team members.
  • You can submit more than one entry as long as they tackle different issues.
  • Ideas and projects must be in English. Other languages cannot be considered.

Benefits

  • There are no cash prizes, scholarships or other financial resources in the CEC. You gain knowledge, contacts, a business plan in the form of the Entrepreneurial Design (as long as you complete it conscientiously) and an official certificate from Stiftung Entrepreneurship (Foundation Entrepreneurship) on the completion of the Entrepreneurship courses and the placement in the Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition.

Timeline
July 31, 2024

Last day for submissions. Last day to complete both the Brains versus Capital & Sustainable Entrepreneurship courses and the Entrepreneurial Design Canvas (EDC).

Please keep in mind that we may not have enough time to review your pitch and you may lack time to meet the CEC requirements.

August 01, 2024

Start of Voting Phase.

All ideas/projects that have completed both courses and fully completed the EDC will automatically move into the Voting Phase and will be posted on our public website.

August 31, 2024

End of Voting Phase.

You still have the whole day to collect votes. At midnight the voting will be closed and it is no longer possible to vote. We will evaluate the collected votes and announce the finalists as soon as possible.

September 2024

Evaluation and announcement.

The 10 submissions with the most votes will go through to the final and in front of our judges. The jury awards points according to criteria such as entrepreneurial vision, feasibility, innovation, leadership, social impact and sustainability and selects the winners. The winners will then be announced on our blog.

Note: Pictures and videos (maximum 3 minutes long) are good ways to explain an idea/project clearly and can increase the chance of getting votes. Please make sure that you only use images and videos to which you have the copyright.

If you don’t want to submit an idea or project, you can still register in the Entrepreneurship Campus to network, share and give feedback on ideas and projects.
