Youth Business International (YBI) has announced that London will host the 2013 Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit between 9-12 September.

The Summit, with lead sponsorship from Accenture and Barclays, will bring together 300 people from 50 countries across the world. Attendees include leaders from private sector, governments and non-profit organizations which are active in the youth entrepreneurship sector. The event is also supported by Goldman Sachs.

Under the theme of Business as Unusual, the Summit aims to demonstrate how to take advantage of the talents young entrepreneurs have to offer, and to catalyze a series of major partnerships that enable more young people to start their own business.

High-profile speakers on the event’s first day include:

• Pierre Nanterme, Chairman & CEO, Accenture
• Sir David Walker, Chairman, Barclays
• Arup Banerji, Global Director for Social Protection and Labor, World Bank
• Julie Meyer MBE, Founder & CEO, Ariadne Capital
• Mike Herrington, Executive Director, Global Entrepreneurship Monitor
• JP Rangaswami, Chief Scientist, Salesforce
• Jacques Attali, President, Planet Finance

The event will then break out into working and specialist sessions in the days that follow.

The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit will culminate in Youth Business International’s Young Entrepreneur Awards on 12 September, which is a prestigious event recognizing the achievements of young entrepreneurs around the world who have been supported by YBI and its network members. This awards ceremony will be supported by Barclays.

This is the sixth Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, with the last event being held in Mexico City in 2010. Youth Business International, one of HRH The Prince of Wales’ charities, has organized the Summit since its inception in 2000.
