World Youth Alliance Africa invites you to the second Africa Arts Forum (AAF). The 2015 AAF will bring together African youth aged between 14 – 30, working in the field of art and youth interested in art to learn, share ideas and work together with WYA in the promotion of human dignity through art. This forum will showcase different types of art including fashion, music, spoken word, poetry, drawing arts, paintings and sculptures.

The Africa Arts Forum 2015 will be held on Saturday, 7th November 2015 at the Michael Joseph Center, Safaricom in Nairobi, Kenya. It will be open to members of WYA and members of the public who have a keen interest on art and/or would like to learn about art.

Theme:

  • This year’s Africa Arts Forum theme will be Art and Dignity. The forum aims to influence the youth that are talented in arts and art professionals to promote dignity in our society through art and to portray art in light of a fundamental aspect of our human existence.
  • This expression of Art and Dignity will enable educating in the understanding of the human person so that our capacity to see human dignity in art will improve.

2015 World Youth Alliance Africa Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC) , Nairobi Kenya.

Theme: Empowering Youth to Shape Africa’s Future
Venue: Strathmore University Auditorium, Nairobi, Kenya
Dates: Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th November 2015.

The 2015 Africa Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC) is the sixth to be organised by World Youth Alliance Africa. This conference brings together young people from across Africa to interact with leaders and policy makers on current global issues.

The Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC) is an annual event hosted by WYA, which seeks to bring together critical thinkers to examine issues in the area of health and education with particular regard to family, women and children. It also provides young leaders with special training on programs in those areas to give them the adequate tools to make a difference back in their country.

The World Youth Alliance Regional Internship Program is an opportunity for young people who are inspired by the ideas and work of World Youth Alliance to contribute practically to its international and regional projects and to study more closely the ideas which have formed the organization. The program focuses on three aspects: project management, training, and network building. As an intern, you can:

  1. Learn about our mission to understand and articulate the dignity of the person.
  2. Gain practical and theoretical knowledge about international, regional, and national policy-making.
  3. Help your region grow socially and economically as you develop projects that uphold the value of each person.
  4. Have the opportunity to build your own network and community in line with World Youth Alliance programs.

Ideal Candidates

  • Ideal candidates possess a strong desire to protect and promote human dignity while making a positive impact on society.
  • Candidates must be proactive, self-driven, resourceful, detail-oriented, and humble individuals with a willingness to learn.

Application Requirements

1. Completed application form
2. Letter of intent.
3. Resumé.
4. Answer to essay questions listed on the application form.
5. Two letters of recommendations.
6. A signed copy of the WYA charter for new members.

You will receive a confirmation receipt via email within four weeks of the internship application deadline. Incomplete application forms will not be processed. Selected applicants will be asked to do an interview.

World Youth Alliance Africa Emerging Leaders Conference – AELC 2014.

What: World Youth Alliance Africa Emerging Leaders Conference
When: Thursday 9th and Friday 10th October 2014.
The 5th Africa ELC will take place on  Thursday 9th and Friday 10th October 2014. The two-day event will take place at Strathmore University Auditorium, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Theme: “Economic Development and the Family”
The Africa Emerging Leaders Conference – AELC is an annual World Youth Alliance event that brings together youth from across Africa to interact with leaders and policy makers on current global issues through lectures and discussions. In addition, a rich display of culture is enjoyed through the sessions at the conference.

The World Youth Alliance is a global coalition of young people committed to promoting the dignity of the person and building solidarity among youth from developed and developing nations.

Eligibility

  • Youth aged between 16 -30 years

Logistics:

  • Lunch and snacks will be provided for the two days of the Conference.
  • All travel expenses will be borne by the participants.
  • Guidance to the economical options available for accommodation will be communicated to participants in due course so as to enable secure and affordable days in Nairobi.
  • WYA Africa will not finance accommodation. Payments for accommodation will be made by the participants.

cost of the Conference?

  • The conference will cost 2,500 Kenya Shillings (30 USD) per participant.
  • This will cater for conference kits with information, food, snacks and entertainment for the two-day conference
