The Tshwane Hub of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community has launched DIY – a web-based youth movement campaign for change. The initiative is a home for young leaders to showcase and honour tremendous positive initiatives (for public good) by fellow young South Africans.
This is done at the backdrop of South Africa celebrating 20 years of democracy. DIY aims to inspire a sense of active citizenship, self-belief and responsibility; develop and support the leadership journey and growth of young leaders.
DIYs are young people under the age of 35 years of age who took initiative to do something of public good, in their community, schools, work place etc.
The Global Network of Hubs (265 across the world) are developed and led by Young People (below the age of 33) who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.
Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference.

• Highly active and socially enaged youth
• Students and pupils
• Young professionals
