Whom: Students, potential and future leaders, young people open to cultural exchange, young people looking to develop or enhance social and interpersonal skills, youth volunteers
The International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Camp South Africa will bring together over 300 students (must be registered at institutions of higher learning) for a three day fellowship and cultural exchange camp. 276 students will be recruited from institutions of higher learning around Gauteng, additional to this the South African Union of Students (SAUS) will nominate 2 SRC representatives from universities around South Africa.
IYF World Camps take place in various countries around the world with the aim of instilling leadership skills in young people through cultural programmes, recreational activities and self-development seminars. While IYF is a Christian organisation, universal values are taught at the camps as the essence of the IYF is to promote a sense of fellowship, leadership and transformation amongst youth. The IYF World Camp South Africa will be organised by a Korean delegation of IFY representatives and volunteers in the hopes of promoting bilateral cultural exchange amongst the Republic of Korea and South Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a young person 15-35
- Must be a registered student at an institution of higher learning in South Africa
- Must be able to transport themselves to and from the 4 day camp
- Must accept the IYF terms and conditions as per the application form
Cost:
There are no costs involved in the IYF World Camp South Africa however, young people need to transport themselves to and from the camp for the 4 day period, no accommodation will be provided. Only lunch will be provided for participants each day.
