2015 Inclusive Business Accelerator Bootcamp – Online Training Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs on Marketing and Distribution

The Inclusive Business Accelerator is looking for entrepreneurs working on innovative products in rapidly expanding sectors such as sustainable energy, food/agriculture and water/sanitation.

The Inclusive Business Accelerator, an initiative of VC4Africa, BoP Innovation Center, SNV and Nyenrode Business School. Entrepreneurs who are working in low-income markets can now apply for a special online bootcamp on marketing and distribution starting in March.

The topic of the online bootcamp is ‘marketing and distribution to the Base of the Pyramid’, as behavioural change and last mile distribution are key to setting up a successful business with low-income groups. The target group of the bootcamp is entrepreneurs who are working on innovative products in rapidly expanding sectors such as sustainable energy, food/agriculture and water/sanitation.

The participants will learn from the best inclusive business cases, have the chance to strengthen their capabilities and use a variety of tools to develop a marketing and distribution strategy. In a 4-week period (starting on March 9) the applicants will interact with inclusive business experts and participants from businesses around the world.

The registration period for the IB Accelerator bootcamp started January 15th and will close on February 15th. Participants need to be a member of the IB Accelerator platform, which is free

The IB Accelerator consists of three elements; the online, the global and the local pillars create a one-stop shop for businesses and enable them to innovate, grow, replicate, leverage and improve their inclusive business strategy. Current local offices in the network are in Vietnam, Mozambique and Uganda.

Are you an entrepreneur working on a highly scalable product or services that mitigates the effects of climate change?
Does your business introduce renewable energy sources to market or reduce energy consumption?
Maybe you are working on a different innovation that makes our society and planet both greener and healthier?

The Green Pioneer Accelerator Program has been developed for early stage companies looking to position themselves for scale. Applicants should either have a working prototype with clear market demand and/or already be generating revenue. This program is designed to support entrepreneurs who have ambitions to take the next step in growing their business to a national and regional scale.

The program seeks to position companies for scale by getting their financials and pitch deck in shape, and preparing them for fundraising conversations with investors. This program combines a rigorous curriculum with practical experience shared by successful entrepreneurs, mentors and investors.

Benefits

Graduates will also have access to over 600 private sector investors and tap into the combined networks and knowledge of Impact Amplifier, Growth Africa, VC4Africa and Hivos.
Upon successful graduation, the 10 enterprises in each program will be showcased to a group of investors including impact-focused as well as impact-agnostic angel investors and early stage VC funds.
The showcase will be done through VC4Africa’s online platform and culminates with interested parties participating in a physical 1-day networking session in both the East Africa and Southern Africa locations.

Key Dates:

– Application process runs to the 1st of December 2014;
– Selection and announcement will be made 15th of December 2014;
– Initial diagnostics and program prep will take place between December 15th, 2014 and January 15th, 2015;
– The Acceleration program begins January 15th, 2015;
– Graduation is in April, 2015;
– Selected participants will receive deal making support the rest of 2015.

AMPION Venture Bus is calling for applications for its five road trips this year. A global fellowship program to be launched with tech partners Afrilabs and VC4Africa.

AMPION Venture Bus brings together young African change-makers and tech experts from all over the world to turn business ideas into real projects. During a 5-day competition and road trip, the “Ampioneers” create start-ups and develop innovative solutions to local challenges.

In 2014 AMPION Venture Bus will hit the road in fifteen African countries between September and November – along the West African coast, in the East African Community, in the Maghreb, and once again in Southern Africa.

From IT specialists to web designers to creative entrepreneurs, 160 participants a re expected to get on board during this second edition. Online applications are open to all from July 2 . A s key actors of economic change in Africa, young women are highly encouraged to apply. There will also be limited room on the buses for journalists

The best startups from the buses will be flown to Abidjan for a major entrepreneurial conference in November. Co-organised with HEC, one of the top business schools in the world, this new conference will expose our Ampioneers to an international audience.
