Coca-Cola Company MENA Scholarship Program 2016 for Study in the United States of America (Fully Funded)

The Coca-Cola Company & the US Department of State are partnering for the 5th consecutive year to sponsor 100 university students from 7 different countries across the Middle East, North Africa and Near Asia to attend a month-long business program at Indiana University’s prestigious Kelley School of Business, one of the top ranked business programs in the United States.

This multi-faceted, immersion scholarship program is designed to give a group of students the opportunity to learn about business education through an accelerated curriculum. The program, which begins in early July 2016, is fully funded including travel to and within the United States, accommodations, meals, and university and visa fees.

Have nationality and currently reside in the country from which you are applying and must have a valid passport for international travel.

- You have a business idea of how to make tomorrow better

How to Apply:

All you have to do is share your business idea on how to Make Tomorrow Better in your country.
The 25 ideas with the most votes will automatically make it to the semi-final round.
Following the semi-finals, 14 final winners will be selected and will win scholarships to attend the program at Indiana University.
Submit your ideas before the application closes on March 20th.

2016/2017 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for Mid-Career Professionals, USA (Fully Funded)

What: A Program for young and mid-career professionals sponsored by the US. Department of State

The Humphrey Program brings young and mid-career professionals from designated countries to the United States for a year of non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts.

The Humphrey Fellowship Program is for experienced professionals interested in strengthening their leadership skills through a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the U.S. and Fellows’ home countries.

As a non-degree program, the Fellowship offers valuable opportunities for professional development through selected university courses, attending conferences, networking, and practical work experiences. During the year, Fellows pursue both their individual program goals and work closely with their Humphrey colleagues in workshops and seminars.

Unlike a typical graduate school experience, the Program encourages Fellows to travel away from their host campus to learn more about American culture and to network with their American peers. If you are interested in broadening your perspectives and becoming a global leader, the Humphrey Fellowship is for you.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

An undergraduate (first university or Bachelor’s) degree
A minimum of five years of full-time, professional experience
Limited or no prior experience in the United States
Demonstrated leadership qualities
A record of public service in the community
English language ability

Benefits:

The Fellowship provides for:

Payment of tuition and fees at the assigned host university;
Pre-academic English language training, if required;
A maintenance (living) allowance, including a one-time settling-in allowance;
Accident and sickness coverage;
A book allowance;
A one-time computer subsidy;
Air travel (international travel to and from the U.S. for the Program and domestic travel to required program events);
A Professional Development allowance for professional activities, such as field trips, professional visits and conferences.

2016 Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV-2016) Lottery : Live and Work in the United States of America.

The Congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is administered annually by the Department of State. Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) provides for a class of “diversity immigrants,” from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States. For fiscal year 2016, 50,000 diversity visas (DVs) will be available. There is no cost to register for the DV program.

Applicants who are selected in the lottery (“selectees”) must meet simple, but strict, eligibility requirements in order to qualify for a diversity visa. Selectees are chosen through a randomized computer drawing. Diversity visas are distributed among six geographic regions and no single country may receive more than seven percent of the available DVs in any one year.

For DV-2016, natives of the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 natives of these countries immigrated to the United States in the previous five years:

Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria,

Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.

Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR,and Taiwan are eligible.

There are no changes in eligibility this year

Eligibility

Requirement #1:

Individuals born in countries whose natives qualify may be eligible to enter. If you were not born in an eligible country, there are two other ways you might be able to qualify.
Was your spouse born in a country whose natives are eligible? If yes, you can claim your spouse’s country of birth-provided that both you and your spouse are named on the selected entry, are issued diversity visas, and enter the United States simultaneously.
Were you born in a country whose natives are ineligible, but in which neither of your parents was born or legally resident at the time of your birth? If yes, you may claim the country of birth of one of your parents if it is a country whose natives are eligible for the DV-2016 program.

Requirement #2:

Each applicant must meet the education/work experience requirement of the DV program by having either:

a high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education;

Two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience to perform. The U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online database will be used to determine qualifying work experience.

Selection of Applicants

Based on the allocations of available visas in each region and country, individuals will be randomly selected by computer from among qualified entries. All DV-2016 entrants will be required to go to the
Entrant Status Check using the unique confirmation number saved from their DV- 2016 online entry registration to find out whether their entry has been selected in the DV program. Entrant Status Check will be available on the E-DV website at www.dvlottery.state.gov starting May 5, 2015, through at least June 30, 2016.
If your entry is selected, you will be directed to a confirmation page that will provide further instructions, including information on fees connected with immigration to the United States.
Entrant Status Check will be the ONLY means by which selectees will be notified of their selection for DV-2016. The Department of State will not mail out notification letters or notify selectees by email. U.S. embassies and consulates will not provide a list of selectees. Individuals who have not been selected also will be notified ONLY through Entrant Status Check.
You are strongly encouraged to access Entrant Status Check yourself and not to rely on someone else to check and inform you.If you are selected, in order to receive a DV to immigrate to the United States, you still must meet all eligibility requirements under U.S. law.
These requirements may significantly increase the level of scrutiny required and time necessary for processing for natives of some countries listed in this notice including, but not limited to, countries identified as state sponsors of terrorism.

All processing of entries and issuance of DVs to selectees meeting eligibility requirements and their eligible family members must be completed by midnight on September 30, 2016.

Competition Contests

The Global Innovation Through Science & Technology (GIST) Tech-I” Competition 2013.

The Global Innovation Through Science & Technology (GIST) Initiative invites entrepreneurs from Africa, Asia, Middle East & Turkey to participate in its annual “GIST Tech-I” Competition. This competition is designed to encourage technology entrepreneurs to launch and/or grow a company.

The Global Innovation through Science and Technology Initiative (GIST) builds entrepreneurial ecosystems across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia by identifying and supporting promising entrepreneurs through competitions, skills development, networking within the GIST community, and interactive mentorship.
The GIST Initiative is led by the U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global.

CRDF Global an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to international scientific and technical collaboration and training.

Eligibility

Competition applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to participate in the 2013 GIST Tech-I Competition:

1) Tech-I application must be written in English, and the video must be in English or with English subtitles.

2) Application’s idea or startup must focus on science or technology solutions with market potential in sectors such as information and communication technologies (ICTs), energy, and health.

3) All members of a team can only enter the competition once with one submission.

4) Each team must select a member who will be the applicant for the team in this competition. This member does not have to occupy a particular position on the team, i.e. CEO. That member is hereafter referred to as the applicant.

5) The applicant must be either a permanent resident or citizen of a GIST eligible country. U.S. citizens or permanent residents are not eligible to participate in the competition.

6) Each applicant must choose to enter the competition as either an Idea Stage or Startup Stage

7) The applicant must be at least 18 years old and able to both read and speak English proficiently.

8) Final award winners from previous GIST Tech-I and I-Dare competitions are not eligible to apply for the 2013 GIST Tech-I competition.

9) The applicant should be ready and available to present their technology idea or startup during trainings and business pitch presentations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 10-12, 2013.

10) The applicant must hold a valid passport and be eligible to travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to participate in the workshop and pitch session if selected as a semi-finalist.

11) All awards will be granted to the applicant only.

12) Applications that fall under the following categories will not be accepted:
pure research projects with no demonstrable commercial potential
team based at a charity or foundation (not-for-profits) organizations
teams based at organizations that buy and resell technologies and other goods.

Application Instructions

In order to participate in the competition, eligible applicants must submit an application online, which includes a selection of either an Idea Stage or Startup Stage classification. The content of this application should demonstrate viability of an idea, market potential, and strategy to raise funding and generate revenue. The application must contain the following:
1) Executive Summary

The Executive Summary will be completed online and must not go beyond three pages. The word count should not exceed 1,000 words and must be written in English. It should include the information outlined below. In addition to the 1,000 words, applicants are encouraged to include visuals, such as tables, graphs, and/or photos, to convey additional information or to complement the narrative portion of the Executive Summary.

2) A Two-Minute Promotional Video

Each application must include a two-minute promotional video, which should highlight the value and purpose of the product or service to customers. The video must be in English or include English subtitles. During this video, applicants are encouraged to be creative and can use images, pictures, text, music, animation, prototypes, or simply have an individual in front of a camera to pitch their idea. Applicants will be required to provide the URL link to their YouTube or Vimeo videos. The privacy setting of the video must be set up as “public.”

Applicants are encouraged to view videos from the GIST Tech-I 2011 and 2012 finalists and other videos made by entrepreneurs who want to reach their customers which are available on websites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter.
