This scholarship cannot be combined with any automatic scholarship made available through the UEA International Office Scholarship programme.

APPLICATION PROCESS

To apply for the School of International Development Scholarship, candidates will need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be a graduate of any International institution.
Hold a degree with a classification of 2:1 (or international equivalent).
To have secured an offer of a place to study your chosen MA or MSc course. Apply for your course at https://www.uea.ac.uk/apply/postgraduate#masters
To submit a 250 word scholarship application via our scholarship application form.
The key part of your scholarship application will be to answer the following question in no more than 250 words:
How does the course you have applied for help you achieve your career goals and how would your experiences and interests aid the learning of the cohort as a whole?

Further Guidance for 250 word scholarship statement: We are looking for a carefully written and concise summary as to how you believe the skills, knowledge and experience of studying on this course in the School of International Development will help you to successfully achieve your career goals. We are also keen to understand how your existing experiences and interests could enhance the learning experience of your peers on the same course and in the wider Master’s cohort more generally.

University of East Anglia (UEA) 2020 International Development Excellence Scholarships for Students from Sub Saharan Africa

Application Deadline: April 16th 2020

International Development Excellence Scholarships for Students from Sub Saharan Africa are partial fees awards, offered on the basis of academic excellence and personal statement.

Number of Awards and Value: Up to 5 scholarships worth £7,000.

Eligibility:

This scholarship is applied as a reduction to international tuition fees. Applicants of Sub Saharan nationality and/or domicile, holding offers to enrol for a Master’s programme in the School of International Development in 2020 will be eligible for consideration.

How to Apply:

All eligible offer-holders from Sub Saharan Africa are automatically considered for this scholarship without any separate application. NB: This scholarship would replace any amount awarded for the Sub-Saharan Africa Postgraduate (Taught) Masters Scholarships.

Deadline:

Eligible candidates holding offers by 16 April 2020 will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

2014/2015 Chevening/Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Scholarships for Africans.

Applications for 2014/15 Chevening/Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Scholarships are now open.

For 2014/15 the Chevening Scholarship programme, in partnership with the University of Westminster, University of East Anglia, London City University London, International Students House, Goodenough College and the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) will co-fund up to three Scholarships. These Scholarships are available to full time staff of CBA’s member organisations (full members and affiliates) from developing countries in the Commonwealth. The Scholarships are for one-year postgraduate courses in broadcast-related subjects at London City University, the University of East Anglia and the University of Westminster.

The MA courses funded are:

City University London

The International Journalism MA

University of East Anglia

MA in Media and International Development

University of Westminster

MA Media Management

The Scholarships cover tuition fees and accommodation and subsistence. Returned airfare must be paid by the member organisation.

The Commonwealth Broadcasting Association [CBA] is the largest global association of public service broadcasters. Its members are the broadcasters that communicate daily with the two billion citizens of the Commonwealth.

Eligibility

Applicants from the following countries are eligible to apply: Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St Kitts, St Vincent and the Grenadine, Trinidad and Tobago, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

Candidates must be full-time staff of CBA’s member organisations (full members and affiliates) from eligible developing countries. Please check the CBA’s list to make sure your organisation is a member.

Candidates must meet Chevening’s eligibility criteria (including English language requirements) before submitting their application.

Candidates must also meet the eligibility requirements of the university to which they are applying.

Applicants must complete the relevant application form for City University London, theUniversity of East Anglia or the University of Westminster, as well as submitting anonline application for a Chevening Scholarship.
