kulturweit is the international voluntary service for german cultural and educational foreign policy.
With kulturweit-Incoming, the German Commission for UNESCO invites young people from Cameroon, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Togo to spend three months from the end of February to the end of May 2024for culture and nature, education and sport in Germany. The places where the participants sit in for three months include UNESCO project schools, biosphere reserves and world heritage sites, theatres, museums and foundations, sports and cultural clubs, universities and Goethe Institutes. The project is carried out subject to the allocation of funds by the donor. During their internship, the participants support their assignment locations, for example in event organization, in public relations or implement projects with children and young people.
Eligibility Requirements
- People can participate who – are of legal age in their home country at the time of the internship (18 years or older), – have their center of life in one of these countries: Cameroon, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Togo,
- Proven good knowledge of German (min . Language level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference),
- Are in good health for the stay abroad,
- Have a valid passport to apply for a Schengen visa, – and want to volunteer in the areas of culture, nature, education or sport
selection process
The kulturweit team of the German UNESCO Commission carries out a pre-selection within four to six weeks. After this first stage of selection, all candidates receive an email concerning the progress of their application. At this time, refusals or positive intermediate decisions are sent to the candidates who will be taken into account in the second phase of the selection process.
