Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships 2019 for full-time Master’s study at a UK university (Fully Funded)

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are for candidates from low and middle income Commonwealth countries, for full-time Master’s study at a UK university.

Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

These scholarships are offered under six themes:

  1. Science and technology for development
  2. Strengthening health systems and capacity
  3. Promoting global prosperity
  4. Strengthening global peace, security and governance
  5. Strengthening resilience and response to crises
  6. Access, inclusion and opportunity

Eligibility

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2019
  • By October 2019, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree). The CSC would not normally fund a second UK Master’s degree. If you are applying for a second UK Master’s degree, you will need to provide justification as to why you wish to undertake this study Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship

Scholarship Worth:

Each scholarship provides:

  • Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of journeys made before your award is confirmed)
  • Approved tuition fees Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,084 per month, or £1,330 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2018-2019 levels)
  • Warm clothing allowance, where applicable Thesis grant towards the cost of preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable
  • Study travel grant towards the cost of study-related travel within the UK or overseas If you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of £465 per month for the first child, and £114 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your children and they are living with you at the same address in the UK (rates quoted at 2018-2019 levels)

How to apply

You must apply to one of the following nominating bodies in the first instance – the CSC does not accept direct applications for these scholarships:

All applications must be made through one of these nominating bodies. Each nominating body is responsible for its own selection process and may have additional eligibility criteria. You must check with your nominating body for their specific advice and rules for applying, their own eligibility criteria, and their own closing date for applications.

You must make your application using the CSC’s online application system, in addition to any other application that you are required to complete by your nominating body. The CSC will not accept any applications that are not submitted via the online application system.

All applications, must be submitted by 16:00 (GMT) on 19 December 2018 at the latest.
You are advised to complete and submit your application as soon as possible, as the online application system will be very busy in the days leading up to the application deadline.

Your application must include the following supporting documentation by 16:00 (GMT) on 4 January 2019 in order for your application to be eligible for consideration:

  • Proof of citizenship or refugee status – uploaded to the online application system
  • Full transcripts detailing all your higher education qualifications (with certified translations if not in English) – uploaded to the online application system
  • References from at least two individuals – submitted directly by the referees to the online application system (referees will be sent an email request)

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is delighted to offer 10 new scholarships to study a master’s degree by distance learning.

Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those unable to study in the UK for financial and other reasons.

Eligibility

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard; a lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases
  • Be unable to afford to study your chosen course without this scholarship
  • Hold an offer of admission to one of the eligible programmes before the deadline of 20 June 2018.

How to apply

To apply for this funding, applicants must:

1) Submit a complete application for study for one of the eligible programmes for 2018-19 (MSc Clinical Trials, MSc Demography & Health, MSc Epidemiology, MSc Infectious Diseases)

and

2) Submit a complete application to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission using the CSC’s application system (click here)

Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the CSC and participating UK universities. Each scholarship provides:
  • Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor usually the cost of journeys made before your award is finally confirmed) – arranged by the university; funded by the CSC
  • Approved tuition and examination fees– funded by the CSC
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,065 per month, or £1,306 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2017-2018 levels) – paid and funded by the university
  • Warm clothing allowance, where applicable – paid and funded by the university
  • Study travel grant towards the costs of study-related travel within the UK or overseas– claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC
  • Excess baggage allowance, up to an annual approved limit, when returning home–claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC
  • Reimbursement of the cost of a mandatory tuberculosis (TB) test, where required for a visa application (receipts must be supplied)– claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC. Additional allowances for spouses or other dependants are not usually available

How to apply

  • You should apply to study one of the taught Master’s courses offered in the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship scheme. These scholarships do not cover undergraduate courses, PhD study, or any pre-sessional English language teaching, and are usually tenable for one year only. View a full list of eligible courses
  • All applications must be made through your chosen university. You must check with your chosen university for their specific advice, admission requirements, and rules for applying. Some universities may require you to complete their own admissions application form as well, which may have a separate closing date. Commonwealth Medical Fellowships 2017 (Enhancing Clinical Skills) for Mid-Career Medical Professionals to Study in the UK (Fully Funded)

Commonwealth Medical Fellowships (Enhancing Clinical Skills) are offered for mid-career medical staff from developing Commonwealth countries. These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.

You can apply for a Commonwealth Medical Fellowship to spend between three and six months at an approved UK university hospital, learning or improving a specific clinical skill.

Purpose: To provide mid-career medics with the opportunity to enhance their clinical skills, and to have catalytic effects on their workplaces.

Intended beneficiaries: Mid-career medics working in universities or affiliated teaching hospitals in developing Commonwealth countries.

Fellows are expected to participate in clinical practice during their fellowship, and to register with the General Medical Council (GMC). If your proposed programme does not require this registration, your application will be considered ineligible.

Eligibility

To apply for these fellowships, you must:

  • Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be employed by a hospital affiliated to a university
  • Be nominated to the CSC by an eligible institution
  • Be available to start your fellowship in the UK on 1 October 2017
  • Have qualified as a doctor between 1 October 2007 and 30 September 2010, or before 1 October 2002
  • Have met the English language requirements of the General Medical Council (GMC) by 15 May 2017

Fellowship Worth:

Each fellowship provides:

  • Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor usually the cost of journeys made before your award is finally confirmed)
  • Research support grant, payable to your host university hospital
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,594 per month, or £1,977 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2016-2017 levels)
  • Reimbursement of the fee for a single English language test and the fee for General Medical Council (GMC) registration
  • Arrival allowance
  • Study travel grant towards the costs of approved travel within the UK or overseas
    If you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of £448 per month for the first child, and £110 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your children and solely legally responsible for them. The level of financial support provided through family allowances is under review and subject to change in both eligibility and rate

Commonwealth Academic Fellowships 2017 for Mid Career Professionals Study in the United Kingdom (Fully Funded)

Commonwealth Academic Fellowships are offered for early career academics from developing Commonwealth countries. These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.
You can apply for a Commonwealth Academic Fellowship to spend between three and ten months at any approved UK university or higher education institution. Applications must include a justification for the length of award requested.

Purpose:

To provide early career academics with the opportunity to plan, conduct, or write research, to encourage applications from universities where capacity building is a priority, and to enhance knowledge, skills and contacts in Fellows’ given disciplines.

Intended beneficiaries:

Early career academics (with no less than two years’ and no more than ten years’ postdoctoral academic experience) working in universities in developing Commonwealth countries.

In your application, you are expected to identify one university that you think is the most appropriate to host your fellowship, and to explain your reasons. You must also provide evidence of agreement to host your fellowship from an academic at your chosen university.

Eligibility

To apply for these fellowships, you must:

  • Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be employed by a university in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your fellowship in the UK on 1 October 2017. Any other start date will be permitted only in exceptional circumstances
  • Have been awarded your PhD between two and ten years prior to October 2017
  • Not have previously held a Commonwealth Academic Fellowship within five years

AND

  • Have been awarded your PhD by a UK university while on a Commonwealth Scholarship

OR

  • Be in the employment of your nominating university

If you have previously held a Commonwealth PhD Scholarship funded by the CSC and meet the eligibility criteria for these fellowships, you can apply directly to the CSC.

2016/2017 Commonwealth Academic Fellowships for Mid-Career Professionals to study in the United Kingdom (Fully Funded)

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships are offered by the CSC for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships support mid-career professionals from developing countries to spend a period of time at a UK host organisation working in their field for a programme of professional development.

Intended beneficiaries:

  • Mid-career professionals (with five years’ relevant work experience) working in development-related organisations in developing Commonwealth countries.
  • Organisations from any sector can apply either to host one or more Commonwealth Professional Fellows within their own organisation, or to nominate one or more Fellows to be hosted by another organisation with which they have links.

Key features

The CSC is keen to encourage creative and flexible applications for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships from a wide range of sectors – professional, charitable, public, and private. Priority will be given to applications with practical relevance in the following broadly-defined areas:

  • Agriculture / fisheries / forestry
  • Economic growth
  • Education
  • Engineering / science / technology
  • Environment
  • Governance
  • Public health

Eligibility

To be eligible for these fellowships, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a developing Commonwealth country, refugee, or British protected person
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Have normally at least five years’ relevant work experience in a profession related to the subject of the application, by the proposed start of the fellowship
  • Be available to start their fellowship within prescribed dates as stated on the CSC website
  • Not have undertaken a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship in the last five years
  • Not be seeking to undertake an academic programme of research or study in the UK. Academics are eligible to apply for the scheme, but only to undertake programmes of academic management, not research or courses relevant to their research subject

Fellowship Worth:

Each fellowship provides:
  • Approved return airfare from the Fellow’s home country to the UK
  • Stipend (living allowance) payable monthly (or pro rata) for the duration of the award at the rate of £1,580 per month, or £1,959 per month for those at organisations in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2015-2016 levels). Exceptionally, depending on the programme arranged, a peripatetic living allowance may be payable. Further details if applicable will be given at the time of offer
  • Arrival allowance of up to £887.83 at current rates, including an element for warm clothing and reimbursement of the visa application fee
  • Fixed grant for excess baggage for return travel only, dependent on the airport destination. The Fellow will be advised of the amount close to the date of departure
  • Flat rate contribution of £800 to the costs of the host/nominating organisation relating to the administration and support of the Fellow, setting up of appropriate meetings, any materials required, and incidental travel for the Fellow during the award
  • Reasonable fees up to a maximum of £3,000 will be agreed in the context of the length of the programme, but
  • Agriculture / fisheries / forestry
  • Economic growth
  • Education
  • Engineering / science / technology
  • Environment
  • Governance
  • Public health
full justification must be given for the amount being claimed. Such claims can cover:
  • Fees for any conferences or short courses attended during the fellowship, provided that these are approved as part of the original application
  • Cost of travel for visits to other organisations in the UK, where these form an integral part of the programme
  • Other fees, for which the CSC will consider requests on a case-by-case basis Host/nominating organisations should bear in mind the following restrictions when planning an application:
Induction/evaluation programmes must be in scale with the programme.
Modest fees including catering, room hire, and facilitator hire for such programmes may be agreed; however, fees for facilitators for evaluation programmes will not be approved.
Additional accommodation costs may be recovered from the Fellow’s stipend.
Requests for funds for cultural events, mobile phones, laptop hire, professional association memberships, costs associated with visits outside the UK, and contingencies will not be approved.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Applications are considered according to the following selection criteria:
  • The extent to which the proposed fellowship will ensure the transfer of skills relevant to the needs of a Commonwealth developing country
  • The extent to which those skills will lead to practical benefits for the developing country following the fellowship
  • The extent to which the fellowship will have a catalytic effect, either within the developing country concerned, or in establishing new relationships with the UK

  • A representative of the host/nominating organisation must complete the first section of the form. The prospective Fellow(s) must complete the second section of the form. Once this has been done, the host/nominating organisation is then required to nominate the prospective Fellow(s) via the EAS. Candidates who have not been nominated via the EAS will not be considered.

2016 Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Students from Developing Countries to study in the United Kingdom

The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship schemes for international study in the world. Since it was established in 1959, around 30,000 individuals have benefited – 25,000 of them have held awards funded by the UK government, managed by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC).

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships is offered by the CSC for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries in 2016. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are offered for selected taught Master’s courses, and are usually tenable for one year only. These scholarships do not cover undergraduate courses, PhD study, or any pre-sessional English language teaching.

Eligibility

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2016
  • By August 2016, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard
  • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a developed country
  • Be unable, either yourself or through your family, to pay to study in the UK
Intended beneficiaries:
  • High-quality postgraduate students who have not studied extensively overseas before, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study in the UK, and who have the potential to enhance the development of their home countries with the knowledge and leadership skills they acquire.

Scholarship Worth:

Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the CSC and participating UK universities. Each Scholarship provides:
  • Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (arranged by the university; funded by the CSC)
  • Approved tuition and examination fees (funded by the CSC)
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,034 per month, or £1,268 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2015-2016 levels) (paid and funded by the university)
  • Thesis grant towards the cost of preparing a dissertation, where applicable (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)
  • Warm clothing allowance and visa reimbursement, where applicable (paid and funded by the university)
  • Study travel grant towards the costs of study-related travel within the UK or overseas (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)
  • Excess baggage allowance, up to an annual approved limit, when returning home (claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC)
  • No additional allowances are available for spouses or other dependants.

How to Apply

  • You should apply to study an eligible Master’s course at a UK university that is participating in the Shared Scholarship scheme. Here is a list of participating universities and eligible courses.
  • You must make your application using the CSC’s Electronic Application System (EAS) – information on how to use the EAS, including detailed guides, is available at http://bit.ly/cscuk-shared-scholarship
  • Before applying, you must check with your UK university for their specific advice and rules for applying, and for their own closing date for applications. Here is a list of contact details
  • You can apply for more than one course and/or to more than one university, but you may only accept one offer of a Shared Scholarship. The CSC will not accept any applications that are not submitted via the EAS to your UK university or applications directly from individuals.
  • All applications must be submitted by 23.59 (BST) on 1 April 2016 at the latest. Each university has its own closing date for applications, and most fall before 1 April 2016. You must submit your application by the date advised by your UK university.

Commonwealth Split-site (PhD) Scholarships are offered for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.

High-quality graduates who have the potential to become influential leaders, teachers, or researchers in their home countries, and whose proposed research has a developmental and leadership focus.

Your application must be made in the context of a departmental/institutional link with a UK university already in operation or currently under negotiation.

Applications without supporting statements from both your home country supervisor and your proposed UK supervisor will be considered ineligible.

Eligibility

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be registered for a PhD at a university in your home country
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2016
  • By October 2016, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)

Scholarship Worth:

Each scholarship provides:
  • Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor usually the cost of journeys made before your award is finally confirmed)
  • Approved tuition and examination fees
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,034 per month, or £1,268 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2015-2016 levels)
  • Thesis grant towards the cost of preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable
  • Warm clothing allowance

Selection process

Once received by the CSC, each candidate’s application is first considered by a member of the CSC’s panel of advisers with expertise in the subject area concerned, and then by the CSC’s selection committee in competition with other candidates.

Applications are considered according to the following selection criteria:

  • Academic merit of the candidate
  • Quality of the proposal
  • Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country

You can apply for a Commonwealth Medical Fellowship to spend between three and six months at an approved UK university hospital, learning or improving a specific clinical skill.

The Commonwealth Academic Fellowships offered by the CSC for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries in 2016. These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas
interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s Secretariat is provided by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), which is responsible for all matters concerning selection, academic studies, and evaluation. The British Council is responsible for supporting award holders in their home countries before and after their awards.
For early career academic staff from developing countries to spend between three and ten months at any approved UK university or higher education institution. Applications must include a justification for the length of award requested.
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for these fellowships, you must:
  • Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person

  • Be employed by a university in a developing Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your fellowship in the UK on 1 October 2016. Any other start date will be permitted only in exceptional circumstances

  • Not have previously held a Commonwealth Academic Fellowship within five years
    AND
  • Have been awarded your PhD by a UK university while on a Commonwealth Scholarship
    OR
  • Be in the employment of your nominating university

  • Arrival allowance
  • Study travel grant towards the costs of approved travel within the UK or overseas
  • If you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of £444 per month for the first child, and £109 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your children and solely legally responsible for them. The level of financial support provided through family allowances is under review and subject to change in both eligibility and rate.
HOW TO APPLY
  • If you have previously held a Commonwealth PhD Scholarship funded by the CSC and meet the eligibility criteria for these fellowships, you can apply directly to the CSC.
  • Selected universities are also invited to nominate their own academic staff. If you are employed by one of these universities, you must apply via that institution in the first instance. For a full list of eligible universities
  • You must check with your nominating university for their specific advice and rules for applying, and for their own closing date for applications.

  • Your application must be endorsed by the Vice-Chancellor or Executive Head of the university that employs you.

  • The CSC funds one-year Master’s programmes only, and does not fund MBAs.

  • For PhD Scholars, paid mid-term visit (airfare) to your home country (unless you have claimed (or intend to claim) spouse and/or child allowances during your scholarship, or have received a return airfare to your home country for fieldwork)
  • If your scholarship is at least 18 months long, the following family allowances:
  • Spouse allowance of £222 per month if you and your spouse are living together at the same address in the UK (unless your spouse is also in receipt of a scholarship)
  • Child allowance of £222 per month for the first child, and £109 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your spouse and children and they are living with you at the same address in the UK
  • If you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent (irrespective of the length of your scholarship), child allowance of £444 per month for the first child, and £109 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your children and they are living with you at the same address in the UK

2015 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships for study in the United Kingdom

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships support candidates to study Master’s degree courses that are either offered in partnership with universities in developing countries, or delivered directly by UK institutions.

The scheme was established in 2002, as a direct response to the measures taken by our funder, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), to explore new methods of delivery as part of the drive for poverty reduction.

2015 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are being offered for the following Master’s courses at the following Universities:

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, you must:

  • be a citizen of a developing Commonwealth country, refugee, or British protected person
  • be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • normally hold a first degree of upper second-class standard, or higher qualification. In certain cases, we will consider a lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience

2015 Commonwealth Medical Fellowships for Doctors and Dentist from developing Commonwealth countries

Commonwealth Medical Fellowships are offered to doctors and dentists from developing Commonwealth countries to enable them to spend between three and six months at a UK hospital undertaking a programme designed to enhance their clinical skills. These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

Awards are tenable for between three months and six months; experience suggests that a minimum of 4 months is sensible.  Awards are tenable at any approved UK University Hospital.

Nominations

Nominations for Commonwealth Medical Fellowships are invited from specific developing country universities. These universities are responsible for advertising the fellowships to their staff and selecting candidates to be nominated to the CSC.

Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for a Commonwealth Medical Fellowship, candidates should:
  • Be Commonwealth citizens, refugees, or British protected persons
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country (a full list is available at http://bit.ly/cscuk-developing-cw-countries)
  • Be employed by a hospital affiliated to a university which is eligible to nominate candidates to the Commission
  • Be available to commence their Medical Fellowship in the United Kingdom on 1 O ctober 2015
  • Have qualified as either a doctor or dentist between 1 October 2005 and 30 September 2008, or before 1 October 2000
  • Met the English language requirements of the General Medical Council (GMC) or General Dental Council (GDC) by 6 March 2015. FELLOWSHIP WORTH

VALUE OF AWARDS
Each Commonwealth Medical Fellowship provides:
• Approved airfare to the United Kingdom and return on expiry of the Medical Fellowship (the cost of journeys made before final award confirmation will not normally be reimbursed, nor can fares be paid for a Medical Fellow’s dependants)
• A research support grant
• A personal maintenance allowance at the rate of £1,563 per month (£1,938 per month for those studying at institutions in the London Metropolitan area) – rates quoted at 2014-2015 levels
• Reimbursement of the fee for a single English language test and of the fee for GMC/GDC registration
• An initial arrival allowance
• A grant for expenses for approved travel within the United Kingdom or overseas
• Candidates should note that there is no spouse or child allowance available. A Medical Fellow who is widowed, divorced or a lone parent and is accompanied by children for whom she/he is solely legally responsible will receive an allowance in respect of the first accompanying child and child allowances for the second and third accompanying children.
  • The level of financial support given towards the costs of family maintenance in the UK is under review and is subject to change in terms of both eligibility and rate availability

  • All Commonwealth Medical Fellowship candidates must submit their application form using the Electronic Application System (EAS).
