Tunza Eco-generation 21st Regional Ambassadors Program 2018

Eco-generation would like to announce a call for applications for the 21st Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors Program.

Eco-generation Regional Ambassador is an elite position awarded to the youth aged between 13 and 24 qualified to represent Tunza Eco-generation, an environmental networking platform for children and youth around the world. Eco-generation Regional Ambassador Program provides exceptional experiences with the opportunities to actively plan, to execute or participate in various environmental awareness programs in each region and country.

As a representative to Tunza Eco-generation, Eco-generation Regional Ambassador must embody the spirit and values of Tunza Eco-generation. Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors must take on various roles to promote and raise environmental awareness for each region and country they represent.

Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors would carry the voice of the future generations at an international level. Since new visitors will gain their first impression of Tunza Eco-generation through Eco-generation Ambassadors, they are also expected to be knowledgeable on current environmental issues and on the information about Tunza Eco-generation platform as well.

Eligibility

  •  All Tunza Eco-generation members aged between 13 and 24 (as of Aug 19th, 2018) who are enthusiastic to spread news and stories about their local environmental issues at a global level

Term

  • The 21st Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors (hereinafter referred to as ‘ambassador’) shall be in the position for six (6) months from September 2018 until February 2019.

Criteria

  • 60% of Application form + 40% of Activity Points
  • Six (6) month of coverage plan should be stated based on the concrete action plans.
  • Any false information on an application form can cause disqualification or cancelation of position even after being selected
  • Any unfair practice in gathering activity points can cause disqualification.

    *For detailed information on point system, please refer to the Notice [World] Guide for the Activity Point System. Eco-generation team shall strictly disqualify any candidates who have accrued the points in an unfair way.
    *Examples of unfair practice in gathering activity points are as below:
    – Uploading many pointless short articles with only a few lines long in a short period of time
    – Dividing one article into multiple articles just to increase the number of articles
    – Putting short & half-hearted comments without actually reading articles
    – Secretly putting comments on old articles are regarded as cheating.

Duties

Mandatory duties

  • An Ambassador must post at least 2(Two) reports a month in regards to the environmental issues taking places in his/her region.
  • An Ambassador should check the e-mail box and Eco-generation Ambassador Forum often so as to promptly respond to Eco-generation team’s notice.
  • If there is any change in the personal information such as e-mail, contact number and home address, a revised ‘Consent to Use of Personal Information’ form must be submitted to the Eco-generation team via email ([email protected]) within 1(One) week.

Optional duties

  • An Ambassador shall voluntarily plan and execute campaigns and events to raise environmental awareness and to promote TUNZA Eco-generation in the local communities.
  • An Ambassador shall try to leave comments on other Ambassador’s reports after carefully reading them as often as possible for active idea exchange and for encouraging each other’s efforts and campaigns.
  • An Ambassador shall join various events including Monthly Events, Essay Competition and etc. of the Tunza Eco-generation website.

  • Reference letters
  • The 3(Three) best ambassador reports will be published on the monthly Tunza Eco-generation Newsletter which is publicly released to the Tunza Eco-generation members.
  • Recognition of the’Best Ambassador of the term’ shall be given to 1(One) Ambassador who shows the most passionate and active environmental activities as well as the participations in various events of Tunza Eco-generation. A certificate and souvenir will be given to the Best Ambassador at the end of the term. The process and final decision on the selection shall be planned and confirmed by Eco-generation team.
  • Express Entry to the facilitator candidates of the 2019 Junior Engineering Academy when completed one’s term
    (From the year 2019, only the Ambassadors who completed their term can be qualified to apply for the  facilitators to the Junior Engineering Academy)

16th Tunza Eco-generation Regional Ambassador Program 2016 (Fully Funded to South Korea)

Eco-generation is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 16th Eco-generation Regional Ambassador Program.

  • All Tunza Eco-generation members aged between 13 and 24 (as of 14th February, 2016) who are enthusiastic to spread news and stories about their local environmental issues at a global level
Term:
  • The 16th Eco-generation Regional Ambassadors (hereinafter referred to as ‘ambassador’) shall be in the position for six (6) months from March 2016 until August 2016.

Criteria:

  • 70% of Application, 30% of Activity Points out of 100%
  • Six (6) month of coverage plan should be stated with concrete action plans.

  • An ambassador shall try to leave comments on other ambassadors’ reports after carefully reading them as often as possible for active idea exchange and for encouraging each other’s efforts and campaigns.

  •  Improvement of environmental leadership trait
  • Enhancing promotions for one’s organization or environmental awareness programs
  • Promotion goods for effective environmental awareness events to be planned and executed by an ambassador
  • Certificate to verify successful completion of the Ambassador’s term
  • Reference letters 
  • 3 best ambassador reports will be published to all the Eco-generation members in a form of monthly Tunza Eco-generation Newsletter.
  • One ambassador who showed the most passionate and active environmental activities shall be awarded the Best Ambassador Award with a certificate and souvenir. This award shall be judged by Eco-generation team.
  • One (1) Most Passionate Ambassador Award and one (1) Best Motivator Award shall be given to the ones who showed the most passionate activities and comment-postings. These awards shall be judged by the votes among ambassadors. Certificate will be given.
  • Ambassadors aged between 13 and 15 can be a potential delegate to the 2017 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit to be held in Seoul, Korea with voluntary application
  • Ambassadors aged between 16 and 24 can be a potential facilitator to the 2017 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit to be held in Seoul, Korea with voluntary application.

Extension of Ambassador Term

  • Current ambassadors who successfully completed the ambassador’s duties can extend the ambassador term by submitting an application form to the next term with the new 6 months coverage plan and motivation without screening procedure.
  • Any current ambassador who wants to extend his or her term should apply again via Application form Page within the application deadline of the next recruitment.
  • Age limitation shall not be applied to the current ambassadors who completed their terms successfully.
  • Current Ambassadors who have failed to complete their mandatory duties shall be regarded as new applicant.
  • Ambassadors can broaden their region to the continental level upon their request after successfully covering their country for ONE YEAR straight. However, if an ambassador only covers one’s country during the continental ambassador period, their coverage will return to the country level in the next term.
  • One ambassador can cover only ONE country/continent during the term.

2015 Tunza Eco-generation HIDDEN ECO-HEROES AWARDS

Eco-generation team would like to call for entries to the 2015 Hidden Eco-hero Award.Unlike other environmental awards and programs appreciating well-known environmental campaign gurus, we would like to find and award the Hidden Eco-heroes around you and through your social networks.

The Hidden Eco-hero can be your classmate, neighbor, SNS friend and anyone who is really passionate about protecting the environment and constantly making substantial efforts. Please find and recommend the Hidden Eco-heroes who haven’t got spotlighted yet.

Total of three (3) Hidden Eco-heroes will be awarded and the recommenders shall be given the gift as a token of our appreciation.

Rules and Regulations

– There is no age or nationality limit for both Hidden Eco-hero and Recommender.

– Multiple entries up to three (3) different persons are allowed.

– The recommended person must have not covered by any media like TV and newspaper.

– All contents in the application form must be true, otherwise nomination will be canceled.

– Eco-generation team will send the clarification email on December 29 to the top three candidates. Unless either candidate or the recommended person reply us back within 2 days, the Hidden Eco-hero position will be automatically succeeded to the next candidate

– The winning certificate and gift will be delivered by DHL. We cannot deliver the winning prizes to the countries where DHL service is not reached.

Benefits

  • Hidden Eco-heroes shall be given the 2015 Hidden Eco-hero Awards Certificate and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 wifi.
  • Recommenders shall be given Samsung Portable Memory station P3 (1TB).
  • The Hidden Eco-heroes will be featured via Social Media Channels of Tunza Eco-generation (Facebook, Twitter and Newsletter) with pictures and interviews.

Eco-generation team will select 5~7 Hidden Eco-hero nominees and post the summaries on the Eco-generation Facebook page to find the Best 3 Hidden Eco-heroes.

How? 

Three(3) nominees who win the biggest number of facebook likes shall be selected as 2015 Hidden Eco-heroes.

Step 5(Three winners only). 

Both Recommender and Eco-hero must take the picture together awarding the Certificate and the Souvenir. This is to confirm that the certificate and the souvenir are received by the right persons. We would like to ask the recommender to have a small interview about the award-winning. Taken pictures and interview should be sent to [email protected].

Eco-generation would like to announce the call for applications for the 14th Eco-generation Regional Ambassador Program. 

Samsung Engineering established Eco-generation in 1996 as one of the largest environmental education programs for children and youth in Korea. In 2006, Samsung Engineering expanded the program to the Asia-Pacific region by launching an English Eco-generation (www.eco-generation.org) website in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). www.eco-generation.org is a children’s educational environmental website that emphasizes learning and sharing knowledge about the environment.

Eco-generation Regional Ambassador Program provides exceptional experiences with the opportunities to actively plan, to execute or participate in various environmental awareness programs in each region and country.

  • Cheating on gathering activity points can cause disqualification

 

Duties

Ambassadors shall post a Self Introduction on the ‘Eco-generation Ambassadors Forum’ page within 7 days after Ambassador Announcement.

– Ambassadors shall post more than 2 environmental articles on the Ambassador Report bulletin. Minimum 12 articles are required for completion of the ambassador term.

– The article should be posted regularly otherwise it can cause disqualification in extension to the next ambassador term.

– Ambassadors shall try to leave kind comments after reading others’ articles on both Ambassador Report and World Report as often as possible so that Eco-generation members can actively exchange thoughts on each other’s regional environmental issues and campaigns.

– Ambassadors shall check their emails as often as possible for responding Tunza Eco-generation’s communication in time.
