Deadline: Ongoing
Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 Young Leaders Debate Programme in Dubai. Register for your opportunity to participate in a new-energy competition that is part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2014 (ADSW), the largest gathering on sustainability in the history of the Middle East. The Young Leaders Debate (YLD), which will take place during ADSW, is aimed at pioneering new-energy innovations.
The Young Leaders Debate (YLD) is an innovative educational approach to influencing global energy policy. Participants envision themselves in the year 2020, assigned to roles as political, economic and technological decision makers. Together, they create solutions for a future of sustainable development, powered by renewable energy.
Taking on the pressing energy challenges that are envisioned for the year 2020, the program not only pits various interest groups against each other, but also gives them an opportunity to interact. YLD will embrace leadership, negotiation and critical-thinking skills, while encouraging young minds to conduct research in renewable energy.
YLD is an initiative of Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s commercially driven renewable energy company that has a mission to invest, incubate, and establish the new energy industry in Abu Dhabi and around the world. YLD will be launched at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2014, a global platform hosted by Masdar that addresses the interconnected challenges affecting the widespread acceleration and adoption of sustainable development and renewable energy.
