2015/2016 Our World Citizen Talent Scholarship for Study in Hague University of Applied Sciences, Netherland

54 (one-time) scholarships each worth EUR 5,000 are available to prospective bachelor degree students for the 2015-2016 academic year. Hague university is an educational united nations of 150 nationalities, where everyone speaks English. You will be taught by both local and international lecturers which will enrich your study period.

Hague University is seeking young, intelligent, talented and ambitious people who view themselves as citizens of the world. If this sounds like you then check if you are eligible below and apply, all you need to do is complete the application form and write an essay of 950 to 1100 words that would convince us to award you the scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

You are eligible to apply for one of these one-time scholarships if:

  • You come from outside the European Union (and not from Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or Surinam)
  • You are enrolling for the first time and have not studied at any programmes of The Hague University of Applied Sciences
  • You are a first year student joining one of the bachelor programmes
  • You will have to pay the full institutional tuition fee rate
  • You have never applied for this scholarship before
  • You have been provisionally accepted as a student (also-called offer of student position) on or before 1 May 2016.

Application Process:

  • Step 1 – First apply to the Bachelor programme of your choice
  • Step 2 – Write an essay: When writing your essay, try picturing yourself as a member of this community. In the essay, describe your cultural background and explain why and how you can contribute to the multinational, multicultural beehive that is The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Check the essay guidelines before you start writing.
  • Step 3 – Submit your essay by completing the scholarship application form between 1 November 2015 – 31 March 2016.

Selection Process:

  • The university has appointed a committee to judge all essays. The judges will select the 54 students whose essays will have impressed them most and award the scholarships to them. The decision of the jury will be binding. You will be informed about the results via email before 15 May 2016.
  • Please note that you will only be awarded the scholarship after you have been conditionally accepted  and have meet all terms and conditions of enrolment. You will receive the scholarship amount of € 5.000, after your arrival in The Hague and have set up a Dutch bank account.

3rd University of Hague Peace Conference – Essay Competition (Win Travel Grant to attend the Hague Peace Conference in Switzerland)

Organized by    The Hague University of Applied Sciences

This summer, The Hague University of Applied Sciences will open its doors for The Third Hague Peace Conference, attended by Bachelor’s and Master’s students from diverse international backgrounds. This conference will consist of a three-day interactive and intensive program from July 1st to July 3rd 2015.

This Peace Conference will evolve around an essay competition.

The Essay

  • The students who write the best 100 essays will be invited.
  • The essays should contain either proposals on strengthening humanitarian law like the Geneva Conventions, or on maintaining peace more effectively by the United Nations Security Council and regional organizations.
  • One hundred students from all over the world are selected on the basis of essays written on either
    one of the two main themes: improving the maintenance of peace, or improving humanitarian law.
  • Those invited to participate will be encouraged to further improve their essays prior to the conference and two weeks afterwards.
  • The best essays will be published in a book on improving human security.
  • During the conference students will become better acquainted with ideas on how to improve the current international systems to obtain and maintain peace.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s students from diverse international backgrounds from all over the world are encouraged to Apply.

Travel Grant

  •  A number of travel grants are available upon request for students from low-income and conflict areas.
  • Students selected to participate get free admission, housing and food during the conference.

The Hague University hereby invites applications for students that would like to start their Master programme during the academic year 2014-2015. At € 5,000 each, the scholarships covers a large sum of the university’s tuition fee and will only be awarded once. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee waiver.

Eligibility scholarship

You are eligible to apply for one of these scholarships if:

  • You are enrolling for the first time for one of the International Master programmes
  • The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver.
  • You have fully completed the scholarship application form
  • You will have been provisionally accepted as a student on or before 31 March
  • You have written an essay, as explained below

Our World Citizen Talent Scholarship

The Hague University offers 54 scholarships to students who would like to start their bachelor programme during the academic year 2013-2014. At €5,000 each, the scholarships cover almost two-thirds of the total first year university’s tuition fee and will only be awarded once.
