Submission Deadline: January 31st, 2014.
The Regional Student Energy Summits are five simultaneous events that will take place in five countries over two days, and use a multidisciplinary framework to educate, inspire and unite students around the world about energy issues.
The Regional Student Energy Summits are modeled after the wildly successful International Student Energy Summit (ISES).
Competition Question: What role will your region play in the transition to a sustainable energy future?
Write 750 words profiling a daunting challenge that your region currently faces and presenting a road map for a sustainable energy future.
Here are some questions to consider:
1. What is the largest energy challenge that your region is currently facing, or will face in the near future?
2. What are some of the emerging technologies in your region?
3. What innovations are required to transition your region to a sustainable energy future?
4. What does the year 2020 look like? 2030? 2050?
The winner will be selected from each geographic region (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America) corresponding with the upcoming Regional Student Energy Summits. Each regional winner will have their written piece shared on the Student Energy blog.
The overall winner will be selected amongst the five regional winners and their piece will be featured both on the Student Energy blog as well as in the upcoming print issue of the OGM, distributed to a global audience.
Submissions must be emailed to [email protected] with “Writing Competition Entry” in the subject line. Late entries will not be accepted.
The winning entries will be selected by Student Energy and the winners will be notified via email by February 14th.
