Siobhan Davies Dance, with the support of Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, is offering dance artists and curators the opportunity to be part of a mentorship programme to explore collaborative conversations and inform new ways of working.
Now in its second year, the programme aims to build understanding of how performance can be seen in galleries and institutions, fostering relationships that encourage confidence and understanding of dance as an art form. Over a year, the dance artists are paired with curators to meet at least four times
In addition they are offered support from the programme director at Siobhan Davies Studios. The parties are each mentor and mentee – both with knowledge to impart to the other, and open to feedback.
Each selected participant is provided with a fund that may be used in any way that they feel will benefit their proposed learning outcome. Support is also be offered by Siobhan Davies and the Programme Director, and if appropriate studio space can be made available.
