The SEED Africa Symposium is an annual international forum for sharing knowledge and experience, establishing partnerships, and developing solutions to stimulate the growth of social and eco-entrepreneurship across the African continent.

Under the theme From Innovation to Imitation, the SEED Africa Symposium 2016 will bring together around 500 enterprises, researchers, practitioners, investors, policy makers and representatives of the civil society to discuss how stakeholders can collaboratively utilize the replication of business models for successfully contributing to green growth and sustainable development across the African continent.

2016 Prix SEED pour les entreprises dans le secteur social et environnemental

Le Prix SEED pour l’esprit d’entreprise dans le développement durable est un projet de prix annuel conçu pour découvrir les entreprises débutants les plus prometteurs et novateurs dans le secteur social et environnemental dans les pays émergents et en voie de développement. Un jury international composé d’experts sélectionne les entreprises qui possèdent les atouts pour réaliser de réelles améliorations pour l’éradication de la pauvreté et la durabilité de l’environnement, tout en contribuant à une économie plus verte.

SEED a lancé l’appel à candidatures pour les Prix Switch Africa Green-SEED, les Prix SEED Afrique et les Prix SEED pour l’égalité des sexes 2016.

Critères d’éligibilité

  • SEED accueille les idées novatrices de toute entreprise de pays en voie de développement ou en transition, qui travaille en partenariat avec d’autres afin de générer des profits d’ordre économique, environnemental et social.

Les candidatures ne répondant pas à TOUS les critères d’admissibilité ci-dessous ne doivent pas être envoyées.

Les lauréats du prix SEED Awards doivent :

a) faire preuve d’innovation et d’esprit d’entreprise
b) apporter des bénéfices au niveau économique, social et environnemental
c) avoir l’intention de devenir financièrement viable le potentiel nécessaire pour y parvenir
d) créer un partenariat entre différentes parties prenantes
e) avoir un projet mené localement
g) être au début de la mise en œuvre

h) répondre aux critères géographiques

Prix SAG-SEED 2016

  • Votre entreprise sociale et environnementale se trouve-t-elle au Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Maurice, en Afrique du Sud ou en Ouganda?
  • Posez votre candidature dès maintenant et remportez l’un des 15 Prix SAG-SEED décernés dans le cadre du projet SWITCH Africa Green, mis en œuvre par le PNUE avec l’aide de l’Union européenne.

  • Votre entreprise sociale et environnementale se trouve-t-elle au Malawi, au Mozambique, ou en Namibie ?
  • Posez votre candidature dès maintenant et remportez l’un des 4 Prix SEED Afrique bénéficiant de l’appui du gouvernement de Flandre.

  • Votre entreprise sociale et environnementale est-elle gérée par une ou plusieurs femmes, promeut-elle l’autonomisation des femmes et se trouve-t-elle au Kenya ?

Prix SEED 2016 – Que peut gagner mon entreprise?

Il n’y a pas deux entreprises identiques, que ce soit d’un point de vue interne ou en ce qui concerne son environnement externe. SEED Catalyser offre à chaque lauréat du prix SEED un programme de soutien personnalisé constitué d’outils de renforcement de capacité, de conseil, de réseautage et visibilité internationale ainsi que de soutien financier. Voici plus d’informations sur les 4 éléments du SEED Catalyser:

Outils: accès à des outils d’auto-assistance en ligne tels que: faire une analyse de marché, élaborer une stratégie de financement, développer une cartographie des partenaires et autres partie prenantes, développer des contrats ou accords d’entente avec les partenaires etc

Renforcement de capacités: un service de conseil individualisé sur le développement d’un plan d’affaires et plan financier, y compris un atelier de 3 jours dans le pays, des webinaires et un conseil à distance par l’intermédiaire de notre équipe de conseillers.

Visibilité: SEED renforce la visibilité des lauréats au niveau national, régional et international à travers la Cérémonie Internationale de remise de prix qui aura lieu à Nairobi, Kenya et qui rassemble des hauts fonctionnaires des Nations Unies et des représentants d’agences de développement et d’institutions financières. Les lauréats sont également présentés sur notre site web, notre blog et nos réseaux sociaux.
Réseautage: SEED facilite le réseautage entre les start-ups gagnantes et des organisations de soutien, des bailleurs de fonds, des décideurs politiques, et d’autres entreprises telles que SEED Alumni, ainsi que les partenaires et associés SEED.
Du 28-29 Septembre 2016 les lauréats sont invités à présenter leur entreprise lors du SEED Africa Symposium, une conférence internationale qui a lieu à Nairobi, au Kenya. Pendant six mois, de Juillet à Décembre, les entreprises gagnantes reçoivent un programme de soutien personnalisé et basé sur leurs besoins actuels.

2016 SEED Awards for Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development for Social & Environmental Enterprises.

SEED has opened the Call for Applications for the 2016 Switch Africa Green-SEED Awards, SEED Africa Awards and SEED Gender Equality Awards.

The SEED Awards for Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development is an annual awards scheme designed to find the most promising, innovative and locally-led start-up social and environmental enterprises in countries with developing and emerging economies. The independent SEED International Jury of experts selects enterprises which have the potential to make real improvements in poverty eradication and environmental sustainability while contributing to a greener economy.

SEED is a global partnership for action on sustainable development and the green economy that was founded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. –

Start-up enterprises that solve pressing local issues by integrating social and environmental benefits into their business models can apply for the 2016 SEED Awards, which opened for nominations today.

This year, the SEED Awards include up to:

  • 15 Switch Africa Green-SEED Awards for enterprises in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa or Uganda. Supported by the SWITCH-Africa Green project, which is implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with the assistance of the European Union;
  • 4 SEED Africa Awards for enterprises in Malawi, Mozambique and Namibia. Supported by the Government of Flanders;
  • 1 SEED Gender Equality Award to an enterprise, run or owned by a woman or women, that prioritises women’s empowerment and is located in Kenya.

Eligibility Requirements:

Benefits:

  • Winning enterprises will receive a tailor-made business support package. Over a period of 6 months, they will be offered expert advice on further developing their business plans, individual workshops targeted at their needs, high level profiling of their enterprises and access to an international network of businesses, governments and development institutions.
  • Selected by an independent jury of international experts, winners will receive their awards at the International Awards Ceremony during the SEED Africa Symposium to be held on 28 29 September 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Tools: self-help tools that help enterprises prioritise and address their most urgent needs, for instance by assisting with market analysis, developing a funding strategy, mapping stakeholder relationships, and developing Memoranda of Understanding with partners.
  • Capacity Building: one-on-one advisory service that offers Winners assistance with their business and financial plan, including a 3-day in-country workshop, webinars and remote advisory through the SEED and In-Country Advisors.
  • Profiling: SEED Winners are profiled nationally, regionally and internationally through a high-level SEED International Awards Ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya, with senior government and UN officials, development, support, and financial institutions as well as through marketing and promotional activities such as our website, blog and social media channels.
  • Network Building: SEED facilitates contacts between its winning start-ups and support organisations, funders, policy-makers, other enterprises such as SEED Alumni, and SEED Partners and Associates.

2015 SEED Africa Symposium -largest gathering on social and eco entrepreneurship in Africa, Nairobi Kenya

The SEED Africa Symposium is the largest gathering on social and eco entrepreneurship in Africa, and is supported by a variety of partners. The Symposium takes a unique approach that emphasizes cross-sector collaboration and peer-learning. It brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy makers, the community of finance and practitioners to co-create, and build together an effective ecosystem for social and eco-enterprises.

2015 is a special year for SEED, in that it marks the 10th Anniversary of the SEED Awards. The Symposium will be the opportunity to share insights from more than 10 years of experience in promoting social and eco-entrepreneurship.

The SEED Africa Symposium is a unique forum for businesses, policy makers, civil society and support institutions to share their knowledge and experience, explore partnerships, and develop solutions to stimulate the growth of social and green entrepreneurship.

The event is organised by SEED – a global partnership founded by UNEP, UNDP and IUCN – in cooperation with a variety of international and local partners.

This year the Symposium will convene around 500 delegates under the theme “Building Bridges for Impact: Green and Inclusive Growth through Entrepreneurship.” Together we will examine emerging trends in the green and entrepreneurship space, and look into ways to strengthen cross-sector collaboration to build an effective ecosystem which supports and amplifies the impact of social and eco enterprises.

Some of the Highlights of the SEED Africa Symposium 2015 include:

  • High-level panel discussions, inspiring keynotes, and a series of hands-on workshops centered around innovative business models and collaborations that can drive the change to sustainable development
  • The South-South Exhibition, which will showcase more than 50 inspiring social and eco-enterprises
  • SEED International Awards Ceremony where we will celebrate the 2015 SEED Award Winners – innovative start-up enterprises that offer sustainable and scalable solutions to social and environmental challenges
  • A variety of networking, peer-learning and matchmaking opportunities throughout the two days of the event and particularly during the  Netfloor
