2013 Goethe International Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme (GO-IN), Germany.

The GOETHE INTERNATIONAL POSTDOC PROGRAMME (GO-IN) will comprise up to 12 postdoctoral fellowships which will be hosted in one of the key research areas at Goethe University listed below (click on research area of your interest for details):
1. Structural Biology
3. Cell and Gene Therapy
4. Oncology
5. Biodiversity and Climate Research
6. Economics, Finance and Management

The programme focuses on incoming mobility and addresses junior researchers from all nationalities.

Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main is one of the largest universities in Germany with approximately 41,000 students, 2,650 PhD students and 560 professors in 16 faculties. Embedded in a metropolitan area of considerable economic strength, with a sizeable international population and a cosmopolitan spirit, the University covers a wide range of subjects.

Goethe International Postdoctoral Fellowships

Eligibility criteria:

  • full-time research experience of minimum 4 years (incl. PhD) and max. 10 years, part-time experience is to be converted into full-time equivalent
  • applicants may have not spent more than 12 months in Germany in the past three years
  • completeness of the application form and further documents
  • applying for a time span between 12 and 24 months
  • the research project generally fits into one of the participating research areas

Duration:

  • 12-24 months according to requirements of planned project

Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship 2013.

Media@McGill is a hub of interdisciplinary research, scholarship and public outreach on issues in media, technology and culture, located in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Media@McGill offers Postdoctoral Fellowships to promising scholars engaging in media-related research, as defined in Media@McGill’s mission statement.

Fellows are provided with a workspace, and are expected to take an active role in the research activities and academic life of Media@McGill (participation in conferences, seminars, etc.). They may also have the possibility of teaching a course within the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill.

Eligibility:

The Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship is open to both national and international scholars who completed their doctoral degrees in a university other than McGill no earlier than June 1, 2009. Candidates must have received their PhD at the time of application. Fluency in English is essential; working knowledge of French is an asset.

Value and Duration:

The stipend for the Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship is $42,000 CAD for 12 months, beginning in the first week of September.

Application Process:

For 2013-14, Media@McGill will be offering one Postdoctoral Fellowship. In a cover letter, applicants must stipulate how their research is related to Media@McGill’s mission statement and to Media@McGill’s 2013-14 theme: Participatory Media. Applicants should also identify a potential faculty supervisor who is a member of Media@McGill and whose research is closely tied to that of the applicant. The following should be included in all applications:

  • a cover letter;
  • a research proposal (750 words);
  • a Curriculum Vitae (maximum 5 pages);
  • official copies of transcripts during graduate studies;
  • 3 letters of recommendation (including one by the Media@McGill faculty supervisor);
  • a writing sample (maximum 20 pages).

Deadline: Complete applications should be sent to [email protected] by March 28, 2013 at 5 p.m. E.S.T. Letters of recommendation can be sent separately by the referees, but must be postmarked by March 28, 2013 if sent by mail.
