2015 Google Science Fair Global Online Science and Technology Competition

Google Science Fair is an international, online science and technology competition that encourages students between the ages of 13 to 18 to be curious, ask questions, and perform science experiments to answer those questions.

The Google Science Fair is an online science competition sponsoredby Google, Lego, CERN, National Geographic and Scientific American.

In partnership with LEGO Education, National Geographic, Scientific American, and Virgin Galactic, Google invites these students to post their science projects online so that they may compete for prizes, scholarships, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Eligibility:

  • Competition is open to individuals born between 19 February 1996 and 18 February 2002 (inclusive).
  • No entrant can register for or enter the competition until they turn 13. If an entrant turns 19 during submission period they will not be disqualified.
  • All entrants must have his/her parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to enter this Competition.

Requirements:

  •  All students must have an internet connection and a free Google Account to participate, as the projects are submitted through Google Sites in English, German, Italian, Spanish, or French
Entrants can submit Projects in any one (1) of the following topics as a main topic and up to two
(2) subtopics:
● Flora & Fauna
● Food Science
● Earth & Environmental Sciences
● Inventions & Innovation
● Electricity & Electronics
● Robotics
● Biology
● Chemistry
● Physics
● Behavioral & Social Sciences
● Energy & Space
● Astrophysics
● Computer Science
● Math
Prizes:
The 20 finalists, along with a parent or guardian, with travel to Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA to present their project to the judges and compete for all of the awards listed below.
Grand Prize:

The Grand Prize winner will receive $50,000 in scholarship funding.

The $50,000 Google scholarship is intended to further the Grand Prize winner’s education. If a team wins the prize, the scholarship’s value will be divided equally among the teammates.

Finalist Prize:

The 20 global finalists will receive a variety of exciting prizes.

Including:

  • A LEGO Education backpack, accompanied by one LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 core set, charger and single software license.
+ “Scientific American” subscription

A free 12-month subscription to Scientific American magazine, in both print and digital

A free 12-month subscription.
