Application Deadline: September 14th 2015 (Extended)
The ITU Telecom World Young Innovators Competition and Intel are looking for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas on how to apply the latest generation of single board computers and controllers to social causes. These solutions can be based on tools such as Intel Edison and Intel Galileo, applied in the form of wearables, embedded devices, Internet of Things solutions or other applications which can be used to improve people’s lives.
Over the past several years, the ITU and its partners, along with the global technology sector, have repeatedly identified wearables, the Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded technologies as leading tech trends.
According to 2013 ITU Telecom World speakers, the IoT will be valued at over $14 trillion by the end of this decade, and Intel estimate there will be around 50 billion intelligent devices online. Recent reports from Cisco predict around 500 million wearable devices will be in use by 2019.
