SAICA’s Thuthuka Bursary Fund 2022/2023 for aspiring Chartered Accountants – South Africa

The SAICA’s Thuthuka Bursary Fund is only open to students who want to become Chartered Accountant

Successful applicants will be required to sign a contract with both Thuthuka Education and Upliftment Fund (TEUF) and National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) for the purpose of being awarded a bursary.

Thuthuka Bursary cannot be used to pay for existing loans or debts.

The funding application is for the 2023 academic year.

Applicants will be considered according to academic performance, National Benchmark Test (NBT) results and financial need as determined by the NSFAS financial means test.

  • Your application remains incomplete if:
    • The consent form is not signed or
    • All required documents are not uploaded.

All fields marked in red are compulsory

Your application is not submitted until you press “SUBMIT”

The closing date for the applications is 31 August 2022

  • Copies of ID documents of persons dependent on family income

  • Final Grade 12 results (if completed Grade 12)
  • Full university transcript (if already at University)
  • University provisional acceptance letter (if you are still in high school).

National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) 2020– Financial Assistance to Study at a tertiary institution in South Africa.

Applications for the NSFAS funding of the 2020 academic year are now open. You will need the following to complete your funding application.

The South African Government is aware most households struggle to pay the hefty academic costs for their kids to complete their desired qualifications. This is why the National Student Financial Aid scheme (NSFAS) is tasked with ensuring that no deserving student is barred from achieving their dreams due to their poor financial background. NSFAS administers funding for potential professionals from poor and working-class families who can’t afford study fees on behalf of the Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

Requirements:

  • Any South African citizen who is currently studying or plans on studying at a public university or TVET college.
  • The combined household income of the applicant who has registered at a public institution from 2018or plans to register in 2020 for the first time must not exceed R350 000 per annum
  • The combined household income of an applicant who has registered prior to 2018 must not exceed R122 000 per annum
  • The combined household income of persons with disabilities must not exceeding R600 000 per annum

  • Certified copy of your ID, not older than 3 months
  • A signed and completed consent form

National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) 2019– Financial Assistance to Study at a tertiary institution in South Africa.

Application Deadline: November 30, 2018,

  • Are you in need of financial assistance to study at a tertiary institution?
  • Apply for a National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) study loan or bursary through the Financial Aid Bureaus at your tertiary institution or directly through the online application with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme.

NSFAS is a loan and bursary scheme funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training for those who do not have the financial means to fund their studies and / or cannot access bank funding, study loans or bursaries.

Eligibility:

• Grade 12 learners from poor and working class families who cannot afford to pay for their studies
• Eligible students who were not funded in the previous years

 

For postgraduate studies, only students who plan to do the following postgraduate qualification may apply:
1. B Tech – Architecture/Architectural Technology
2. B Tech – Biokinetics/Biomedical Technology/Biotechnology
3. Postgraduate Certificate in Education
4. Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting, and
5. LLB

Application Procedure:

A. Before applying you should have decided which course you want to study and at which public university/TVET college. You will need to select these choices in the application form.

Make sure you have electronic (and certified copies) of the following:

  • Your South African identity document/card or, an unabridged birth certificate
  • IDs of parents and/or guardian (or death certificate where applicable)
  • IDs of each person living with you in your home
  • Pay advice/letter of employment/pension advice (not older than three months)
  • Please download the consent form and fill it in with your parent/guardian’s signatures. Applications without a consent form that is signed by all people whose incomes have been declared in the application will not be accepted, and will be considered as incomplete.
  • If you have a disability, please download the Disability Annexure A and fill it in

Application Deadline : 30th of November and until the 30th of September for UNISA.
