Applications to be part of the 2025 MultiChoice Talent Factory East Africa, West Africa and Southern Africa Academy are now open.

MTF is a 12-month long industry readiness programme that affords the opportunity to learn from some of the leading players in TV and Film while acquiring valuable experience in directing, producing, cinematography, commissioning, direction and many more other skills.

Requirements

– Do you have a college/university qualification? (Preferably experience in the Film Industry)Yes

Are you between the ages of 21 – 26 years old?

Application Procedure

  • Your CV – not more than 2 pages
  • Personal Motivation letter of not more than 200 -300 words (why should you be chosen)
  • Copy of Identification
  • Copy of High School certificate
  • Copy of College/University qualification
  • Please add COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate

MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Program 2024 for aspiring film and TV content creators (12-month Fully Funded)

The MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Program is a 12-month fully-funded training programme that requires students to be enrolled at the academies full time and they will be based in either Zambia, Kenya or Nigeria.

Requirements

  • Students between the ages of 18-26
  • Students with a qualification from a registered post-secondary education institution or have some experience in the film industry
  • Be fluent in English in terms of speaking, reading and writing
  • Citizens of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe
  • Students who demonstrate a passion for the TV & Film industry

How to Apply

You must register on the MTF Academy website at multichoicetalentfactory.com; correctly and fully complete the online application form; collate and electronically submit all of the relevant supporting documents listed below:

  1. your curriculum vitae; including contactable references
  2. certified copy of academic transcripts or certificate from a tertiary institution; and/or
  3. You may also be required to provide references or any other documents that MultiChoice may stipulate.
  4. Your application must be submitted online by no later than the Closing Date and Time (14 July 2023 at 23:59 CAT).

MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Program 2022/2023 for aspiring film and TV content creators (12-month Fully Funded)

MultiChoice is once again searching for 60 aspiring film and TV content creators from Southern Africa, West Africa, and East Africa to be part of the Class of 2023.

Now approaching its fifth year, the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy is excited to once again call for applications for its world-class film and TV training programme which kicks off in October this year!

The call is open to all emerging filmmakers with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification, to apply for this exciting opportunity to hone their television and film production skills. Our curriculum combines film studies such as directing, sound design, the business of film, to name a few with workplace experience on M-Net’s top productions.

The 12-month fully-funded programme is open to candidates from Southern, Western and East African countries.

Under the leadership of three new academy directors, this will be a landmark year for the MTF Academy programme.

MultiChoice Africa is committed to building and sustaining the training-to-employment pipeline within Africa’s film and TV industry. The MTF initiative also aims for a 60/40 split in favour of women since its inception.

MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Program 2021 for aspiring film & television creatives.

The MultiChoice Talent Factory is an Africa-wide, multi-tiered training and experiential learning programme by MultiChoice Africa. It is designed to provide the African creative industry with a platform to learn, develop talent, engage and connect with each other through shared passions.

If you frame your world through camera angles, narrate reality like a movie script, and edit the montage of your life like a film director, then here’s a flash-forward into your future – MultiChoice Africa is calling all aspiring film directors, DOPs, sound guys, and scriptwriters to help us ignite Africa’s creative industries. Who knows, perhaps one day your name will be rolling across the closing credits on our DStv channels.

In June 2021, on the occasion of Africa Month, we’re launching a call to entry for the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy class of 2022. We’re recruiting aspiring African talent – that’s you – to gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in cinematography, film editing, audio production and storytelling. Sixty talented students from 13 African countries will get the chance to hone their film and television production skills alongside industry greats. This year-long, funded, programme will be supported by MultiChoice Talent Factory academies hosted in Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia. Students will create quality local content that will be broadcast on our local M-Net channels on the MultiChoice platform.

MultiChoice Talent Factory graduates will also get to showcase their portfolio of work on the MTF Portal – a database for film professionals across the continent, where they can access job opportunities, keep up to date with industry news, and expand their network.
