The Graduate Trainee Programme of The Nigerian Stock Exchange is an 11 months programme geared towards building global talents locally, and raising a new generation of leaders for the Capital Market and Nigeria’s economy.  

The Graduate Trainee Programme is primarily designed to build the talent pool at the NSE (“our future leaders”) as well as to address the skills gap in the Capital Market and the Nigerian economy at large, as a secondary objective.

Combining theoretical insights and a hands-on practical approach, the NSE Graduate Trainee Program (GTP) will give participants the extraordinary opportunity to learn all aspects of the capital markets and also firmly position them on the right path to career success

The NSE Graduate shall be a team leader and player who sees him/herself leading the growth of the Capital Market in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and Africa at large.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduate from Nigerian and Foreign Universities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1)
  • Completion of NYSC between 01 January 2014 and December 31st 2014
  • Minimum age limit of 26 years by 31st December 2014

Objective of the Graduate Trainee Programme

Joining the NSE Graduate Trainee Programme is a great way to progress within our business and fast track your career. The NSE Graduate Trainee is expected to be a logical thinker, proactive, have a great attitude and be tenacious, energetic and hardworking.

The NSE Graduate shall be a team leader who sees him/herself leading the growth of the capital market in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and Africa at large.

Eligibilty Requirements:

  • Graduates from Nigerian and foreign Universities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline Minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2.1).
  • Completion of NYSC not earlier than November, 2013.
  • Maximum age of 24 years by 31st December, 2014.

Through the Graduate Trainee program, IBM seek to recruit high-potential recent graduates and develop them into Telco IT specialists through a twelve month long on-the-job training. The selected candidates will work in either Network Management, Server administration or Application Support. Each candidate would receive training as specific to their tower, plus everyone will go through training on Service Management and Basics of Telecom IT.

Responsibility

Main responsibilities will include:
• Working with Competency managers, ensure smooth IT operations for a leading Telco in Africa
• Interacting directly with client team members onsite
• Developing proficiency in one or more areas to become a subject matter expert (SME)
• Preparing data for Management Reporting (and presenting occasionally to local management)
• Undergoing continuous training and development incorporating common soft skills education and specialised classes for IBM

Strengths and Experience 
While exposure in computer science / IT is a pre-requisite, what we are primarily looking for is:
