Interns at Google bring questions and build answers. Google offers a range of internships across EMEA and durations and start dates vary according to a project and location. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and the recruitment team will determine where you fit best based on your resume.

Internship Areas

Business Internships are typically offered in the following business areas:Sales and Customer Service:

  • Google’s Advertising Sales and Global Customer Service roles find innovative solutions that meet their clients’ changing needs. They identify business challenges, collaboratively shape solutions that drive strategic initiatives and keep clients informed of the ways Google products can enhance their online and offline presence.

Large Customer Sales:

  • Google’s Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build strong businesses and brands. They enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. They’re uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. They advise clients on Google’s broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

Google for Work:

  • They’ve helped millions of employees and organizations around the world to “go Google.” As masters of cloud computing, the Google for Work team helps small and large businesses, educational institutions and government agencies discover the wonders of “the cloud” and work smarter. Their technical and sales teams design and implement solutions for these organizations with custom features, security and support — all with Google’s philosophy of innovation and ease of use in mind.

People Operations:

  • Google’s People Operations roles are focused on redefining “human resources” and preserving Google’s unique culture in the way they attract, hire, develop and reward talented people.

Marketing:

  • Google’s Marketing team applies the same level of creative originality to Google’s marketing campaigns that the company has applied to online search and advertising. They support Google’s growth and business generating efforts through effective and results-focused marketing campaigns for both business and consumer products.

Africa Internship Program:

The Africa team focuses on accessibility, relevance, and outreach. They want to make it easier for African users to access information on the internet, deliver more relevant content, and build relationships with Africans who are building the internet. Recent efforts in those areas – like Getting African Businesses Online, Gmail SMS, and Google Trader – empower Africans to make better use of technology in their daily lives.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities and detailed projects will be determined based on your educational background, interest and skills.
Minimum qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program and maintaining student status throughout the internship. Priority given to students graduating end of 2016 or in 2017.
  • Returning to education on a full-time basis upon completing the internship.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks and up to 6 months at Google.
Preferred qualifications
  • Previous internship experience in Sales, Advertising, Consulting, Analysis, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance or related fields.

2014 Google Summer Trainee Engineering Program for Computer Science Students.

Google is pleased to announce the 2014 STEP internships in EMEA is now open to students who have completed the first year of their university studies by summer of 2014 and are studying computer science or related subjects. This program includes three main components: a software project, skills-based training, and professional development. Google will have STEP cohorts in five offices this year: Israel, London, Munich, Krakow and Zurich.

This program is open to all qualified University students and is committed to addressing diversity in our company and in the technology industry. Students who are a member of a group that is historically underrepresented in the technology industry are encouraged to apply, including women, ethnic minorities and students with disabilities.

This summer trainee program includes:

  • Software Project: A 12-week development project that you will work on with a team of Googlers and other STEP Interns. Skills-Based Training: Enhance your coding skills; get exposed to new tools and programming languages.
  • Professional Development: Attend ongoing technical talks by senior Googlers, additionally, learn how to enhance your resume, tackle technical interviews, and improve your presentation skills.
  • Mentorship: Be matched with a Google engineer, other than your manager, to guide you through your summer experience.
  • Fun: Social activities, community building and networking. Build a relationship with your peers.
  • Exposure: A unique glimpse into applying your computer science studies in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google’s product offering.
  • Contribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning and search technologies.
  • Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to massive amounts of data and information.
  • Solve all problems that come your way.
Minimum qualifications
  • Have completed your first year of undergraduate studies by Summer 2014
  • International students who are currently enrolled at a university within Europe and Israel are eligible to apply. If hired, students will need to provide Google with proof of authorization to work in the relevant country
  • You must be available between 30th June and 19th September 2014

Preferred qualifications

  • Students should have programming experience in either Java, Python, C, or C++.
