1. Make.it.WORK: How can YOUth fight youth unemployment?

Unemployment levels have been reaching new peaks in almost every country, hitting youth particularly hard. The global youth unemployment rate is historically high, 13.6 per cent in 2011 on global level and 22.4 per cent in European Union in June 2012. In Spain, unemployment rate for people under 25 is at an astonishing 53 per cent, in North Africa and Middle East 24 per cent and the only two regions with one digit youth unemployment are South and East Asia.

It is expected that more than 1.2 billion young people will enter labor market in the next 10 years while only 300 million jobs await. Well, that’s the challenge, isn’t it? What can we do to take action? Supported by EACEA Youth in Action Programme, Challenge:Future together with CEEMAN management development association and PRME– Principles for Responsible Management Education invites you to become part of the largest youth movement against youth unemployment.

AWARDS: The Winning team will receive EUR 3.000 Prize for idea development + two scholarships for C:F Summit 2013 + two scholarships for IEDC Young Managers Program. The second and third place will also bring each team two C:F Scholarship for C:F Summit 2013 (which will be held in Slovenia) + scholarship for IEDC Discovery Management Program. 2. The Future of Work  Competitiveness in Eastern Europe?

What can companies from Eastern Europe do to escape the bind between the more productive West and more cost-efficient East?

Currently, companies in EE countries are relying heavily on cost leadership or on local control as large diversified, resource based conglomerates. However, both strategies can be easily beaten by Western companies with higher productivity, companies from Asian emerging countries that have lower factor and energy cost, and by international specialized companies. What should they focus on to develop a strong advantage in international competition?

A.T. Kearney  in partnership with Challenge:Future and CEEMAN invites you to become part of a Global Rescue Team that will envision the plan for a prosperous Eastern Europe.

AWARDS: The grand winner will win one paid three-months internship at the A.T. Kearney Ljubljana, Slovenia office or at A.T. Kearney Warsaw, Poland office. The internship is paid in amount of 250 EUR per week. The internship can start any time, as preferred by the winner. ALL THREE FINALISTS TEAMS will receive two C:F Scholarships for C:F Summit 2013.

3. My dream Job  Towards Perfect Education

Who knows what kinds of jobs and industries will be born a decade from now and how the new education systems will look like?

Ten years ago, Facebook, Google, and Wikipedia didn’t exist. Ten years before that, we didn’t have the Web. Technology is rapidly changing the way we work and impacting globalization.

But it is not only about the technology. It is also about global power shifts, limited natural resources, new business competitiveness, and it is about crises and new opportunities. It is about economic and political power moving from North to South and from West to East, about the rise of social business and the shift from large, expensive, institutional organizations to small, low-cost, unpredictable and local players. One thing is certain: they won’t look the same as now. We will see a more flexible, more collaborative and far less secure working world, we will see a different education system. What awaits us in the future and how to succeed in new realities?

The grand winner will win a special speaking opportunity at Out of The Box Youth conference in Maribor, Slovenia on 24 September 2013. ALL THREE FINALISTS TEAMS will receive two C:F Scholarships for C:F Summit 2013.

Eligibility

The Challenge:Future Competition 2013 is free and open to all participants and teams that are in compliance with the specific rules listed below. The competition organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team or individual team members that violate the rules and regulations. Eligibility is subject to individual review. Competition void where prohibited by law.

• Teams may consist of 1 to 3 members per team.
• The competition is open to an unlimited number of teams per university, school or youth organization.
• Team members do not have to be affiliated with the same institution or country.
• Each team can have only one mentor.
• Having a mentor is advised but not compulsory.
• For awards or benefits, the team creator will have priority, if not otherwise stated in competition guidelines or Awards section.

Team Members Eligibility:

• Only born after February 18, 1982 and before February 18, 1995 are eligible to compete.
• Proof of ID (for all team members) will be requested of all Finalists.
• Each individual member can compete only in one team for each of the three competitions.
