Applications are now open for the 2027 Mercedes-Benz beVisioneers Fellowship Program. beVisioneers is a global fellowship that equips innovators aged 18 to 28 from all backgrounds with the training, expert support and resources to turn early stage environmental solutions into lasting impact.
Designed and implemented by The DO School Fellowships and funded by Mercedes-Benz, beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship launched in 2023 to equip thousands of young people around the world with the tools and resources to implement and scale environmental projects for a sustainable planet.
As a participant, you’ll embark on two year fellowship journey. Starting with a 12-month intensive, requiring a minimum of 24 hours per month commitment, where you will gain skills, networks and knowledge to launch a market-tested prototype with access venture coaching, mentoring and project scholarships.

The fellowship supports young innovators developing solutions to environmental challenges across areas such as:
- Community environmental resilience
- Climate action
- Circular economy
- Sustainable mobility
- Biodiversity and conservation
- Waste reduction
- Renewable energy
- Sustainable agriculture
Eligibility Requirements
For the 2027 Fellowship, the program accepting applications only from residents those studying, living or residing in 🇪🇺 Europe, 🇮🇳 India, 🇮🇩 Indonesia, 🇰🇪 Kenya, 🇲🇾 Malaysia, 🇲🇽 Mexico, 🇷🇼 Rwanda, 🇿🇦 South Africa, 🇹🇿 Tanzania, 🇺🇬 Uganda, 🇺🇸 USA, and 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe for the duration of the fellowship. Applicants must currently live in one of these countries and plan to stay in one of them when implementing during the creation of their project. Fellows may move between eligible countries, but cannot relocate to a country that is not on this list.
Selection Criteria
To be eligible for the beVisioneers Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 28 years old at the time of applying
- Reside in one of the eligible countries listed in Question 1, and live there for the majority of each fellowship year (>9 months), implementing their project in that same country
- Have a good command of English
- Show strong dedication to positive environmental change and entrepreneurial spirit — including persistence, resilience, and determination
- Have an existing project, or a strong idea for one, that is truly planet-positive (see our definition in Question 7)
- Not work for Mercedes-Benz, and not have a parent or guardian who does

Program Details
Year One
- Year 1 of the multi-year Fellowship is a 12-month foundational innovation program, where you will gain skills, networks and knowledge to launch a market-tested prototype with access venture coaching, mentoring and project scholarships
Year 2 & Alumni
In Year 2, the Acceleration Year, Fellows scale their ventures into sustainable impact projects tackling pressing environmental challenges. Having earned deeper access to venture coaching, scaling mentors, and skills-gap workshops, Fellows receive financial support through project scholarships and a cost-of-living stipend, plus connections — via global summits, expert workshops, and network events — that sustain their projects long after the fellowship ends.
After completing the multi-year beVisioneers Fellowship, you join our Alumni Network and gain access to our global ecosystem of investors, accelerators, experts, climate scientists, and partners. You’ll also unlock new opportunities including speaking at one of our global events as an expert, and more.
