Then apply to join the Commonwealth Youth Human Rights and Democracy Network, a platform for young professionals to promote the principles of the Commonwealth Charter in attaining fundamental social change.
The Commonwealth Youth Human Rights and Democracy Network raises awareness about human rights and political participation for youth in the Commonwealth and identifies the ways and processes to involve young people in tackling human rights challenges and promoting democracy.
The network also observes election processes in the Commonwealth as part of the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Youth Empowerment (7.4) to: ‘involve young people in the monitoring and implementation of human rights instruments and free and fair elections.’
• be aged 29 years or younger by 1 June 2016
• be a national of a Commonwealth member country
• have relevant leadership experience in issues related to human rights and democracy
