Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships 2025 for Teacher Training Students (Fully Funded to Japan)

Applications are now open for the 2025 Japanese Government (MEXT) Teacher Training Scholarships. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at designated Japanese universities as Teacher Training Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program as follow

Requirements

  • Nationality: Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan.
  • Age: In principle, applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1990.
  • Academic and Career Background: Applicants must be graduates of universities or teacher training schools and have worked as teachers at primary/secondary educational institutions or teacher training schools (excluding universities) in their home countries for a total period of five years or more as of October 1, 2025.
  • Japanese Language Ability: Applicants must be willing to learn Japanese.
  • Health: Applicants must submit a health certificate in the prescribed format signed by a physician attesting that the applicant has no physical or mental conditions hindering the applicant’s study in Japan.

PERIOD OF SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship period is the necessary period for the completion of the accepting university’s training course, which should be between October 2025 (or the starting month of the course) and March 2027. Even if applicants arrive in Japan in September 2025, the scholarship period will start in October 2025. Extension of the scholarship period is not permitted.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Allowance: After arrival in Japan, 143,000 yen per month will be paid. A supplemental regional allowance of 2,000 or 3,000 yen per month will be added to the monthly scholarship amount for the grantees studying or conducting research in specially designated regions. Due to the situation of the Japanese Government’s budget, the amount of payment may be subject to change each fiscal year. If a grantee is absent from the university for an extended period, the scholarship shall be suspended for that period.
  • Education Fees: Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at universities are weaved.

Travel Expenses

  • Transportation to Japan: MEXT stipulates the travel schedule and route, and provides an economy-class airline ticket for the flight from the international airport closest to the grantee’s residence (in principle, the country of nationality) to an international airport in Japan used on the normal route to the accepting university.
  • Transportation from Japan: Based on the application by the grantee, MEXT will provide an airline ticket to grantees who shall complete the training course at the accepting university and return to the home country by the end of the final month of the scholarship period

Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards 2025/2026 for Nigerians to Study Abroad (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship. Application is invited from interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards for: 

BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA) 

i) Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt and Algeria; 

ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Romania. 

FIELDS OF STUDY 

a. Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologist and 

b. Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields. 

Eligibility Requirements


A. UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2023 & 2024) for Non-African Countries and for African countries the age of certificate is one year (2024) only. Age limit is from 17 to 20 years. 

B. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division. 

All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Programme and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D. 

i) N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted; and 

ii) Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer. 

Application Procedure:

Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; 

(ii) All applicants for Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference, and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which was opened Middle November to close 15th January, 2025. Complete the application form online; 

(iii) All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-russia.com which is opened; 

(iv) All applicants for Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia; 

(v) All documents to be uploaded on the Russian Application portal and must be properly scanned in PDF format; 

(vi) All prospective candidates for Russian MUST have an international passport and original WAEC certificate before applying and for those with 2024 WAEC your are advised to download a digital copy of your WAEC certificate from WAEC portal and upload to the Russian portal; 

(vii) All Applicants to upload the following certificates online; 

a. UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip 

b. POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip

Government of ​Brunei Darussalam Scholarships 2025/2026 for Foreign Students (Fully Funded to Brunei)

Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Government of ​Brunei Darussalam Scholarships. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to invite applications for the Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship to Foreign Students Tenable in Brunei Darussalam for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Scholarship provides applicants with the opportunity to pursue studies at the Diploma, Undergraduate Degree and Postgraduate Master’s Degree level at the following institutions of higher education in Brunei:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Not exceed the age of 25, for Undergraduate and Diploma programmes, and the age of 35, for Postgraduate Master’s Degree programmes, on the first day of July on the year when the course/programme starts
  • ​Be proficient in English with a Credit 6 at GCE ‘O’ Level Examination or a Grade ‘C” in IGCSE English (as a second language) or an IELTS score of 6.0 or a TOEFL minimum score of 550

Scholarship Worth:

The scholarship recipient will be facilitated with the benefits of the scholarship as follows:

  1. exemption from paying tuition fees including acceptance, examination, registration and orientation fees for the duration of the programme;
  2. an economy class air-ticket to Brunei Darussalam from the scholarship recipient’s country of origin/ country of domicile prior to the commencement of the course and an economy class air-ticket from Brunei Darussalam to the scholarship recipient’s country of origin/country of domicile upon completion of the course;
  3. a monthly personal allowance of BND$500.00;
  4. a monthly meals allowance of BND$150.00;
  5. an annual book allowance of BND$600.00;
  6. accommodation at the residential college of the University/ Polytechnic;
  7. baggage allowance for shipment of the scholarship recipient’s personal effects to his country of origin/country of domicile upon completion of the programme, at a maximum amount of:
    • BND$250.00 to a country within the ASEAN region; or
    • BND$500.00 to a country outside the ASEAN region;
  8.  comprehensive insurance cover for the whole duration of the Scholarship. The scholarship recipient is urged to obtain additional insurance prior to his travel to Brunei Darussalam and for the whole duration of the Scholarship at his own expense.

Applications are now open for the 2025 Google Research Scholar Program. The Research Scholar Program aims to support early-career professors who are pursuing research in fields relevant to Google. The Research Scholar Program provides unrestricted gifts to support research at institutions around the world, and is focused on funding world-class research conducted by early-career professors.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be a full-time assistant, associate, or professor at a university or degree-granting research institution at the time of the application submission.
    • Post doctoral staff can only serve as a co-PI, not a primary PI.
  • Applicants must have received their PhD within seven years of submission (e.g., applicants in 2024 must have received their PhD in 2017 or later).
    • We consider exceptions for applicants who have been teaching seven years or fewer and had delays, such as working in industry, parental leave, leave of absence, etc. This exception request can be documented on the application.
  • Applicants can submit one application per round.
    • Faculty can only serve as a PI or Co-PI per round. Applicants cannot serve on two separate proposals.
  • Applicants can apply a maximum of 3 times within the 7 years post-PhD.

Funding

  • The funds granted will be up to $60,000 USD and are intended to support the advancement of the professor’s research.

The scholarship is aimed for people who have a cultural idea, such as art, music, research etc, related to the UNESCO World Heritage list and are interested to connect the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with one or more sites around the World in a cultural or artistic way.

Requirements

  • The scholarship is international and can be applied by people from all over the World, such as artists, researchers or other cultural actors.
  • Region Gävleborg awards the Residence Scholarship to a person who has an idea related to the UNESCO World Heritage list and can connect the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland to another World Heritage site in an artistic, cultural or researching way.

  • The World Heritage Scholarship is a residency that involves staying and living in one or two World Heritage farms for a period of one month

International Journalists‘ Programmes (IJP) Southern African Journalists’ Bursary Programme 2025 in Germany (3.000 Euro Stipend)

Applications are now open for the 2025 International Journalists‘ Programmes (IJP) Southern African Journalists’ Bursary Programme. The Southern African-German Journalists’ Programme is a multiyear effort to foster a deeper understanding between Germany and Africa as a whole. It has been offered in response to concerns about an increasing political and cultural detachment between Africa and Europe. The bursary is intended to enable young journalists to gain valuable insights into the political, economical, cultural and social fabric of the host country.

The bursary is named in honour of the former Federal President Horst Köhler and his exemplary dedication to German-African relations. President Horst Köhler not only campaigned for Africa during his time in office, but remains committed to a cultural change in Africa policy that takes account of historical upheavals and takes the global significance of the continent seriously. IJP is grateful that Horst Köhler has given his name to the programme.

Requirements

  • All journalists from Southern Africa (SADC Member States and Kenya) between the age of 25 and 40 who regularly work for a media organisation can apply.
  • Above average English language skills are required. Interested candidates are asked to submit their documents in digital form only between 27 November and 1 March.
  • Every year the International Journalists‘ Programmes (IJP) offer a bursary to up to six young Southern African (SADC‐Member States: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe + Kenya) and up to five young German journalists.

Scholarship

  • The Southern African delegates receive a fixed payment of 3,500 Euro. This is expected to cover most of their travel, accommodation and living expenses. No further payments will be made: delegates are expected to use their own funds for any further costs. Payment for their work with the host media is not envisaged. To receive the full grant participants are obliged to write a report of at least three pages and provide copies of their published journalistic work after returning home.

Timeline

The programme starts with an introductory conference in Berlin. This allows participants from Southern Africa to familiarise themselves with their host country. After that, they work for several weeks with media houses and embark on their own research. Applicants are asked to submit their preferences for the outlet with which they would like to work. The final location is chosen by IJP organisers in conversation with each delegate.

  • Enclose a CV with a passport photograph
  • Write an 800-word essay addressing the following topics:
  • Why would you like to work in Germany?
  • What are the three research topics you want to pursue during the fellowship?
  • What role do you expect to play at your home media in the future?
  • How will you spend the bursary?
  • Include a one‐page resume detailing your education and work experience, your standard of German and English (copies of certificates/ e.g. Goethe Institute/TOEFL), plus two copies of articles written by you (TV and radio journalists should submit manuscripts or links, since no audio or video tapes can be considered)
  • A journalistic reference from your editor or head of department is required (freelancers should submit a reference from a senior journalist). It should also guarantee your leave of absence for the duration of the programme.

Applications are now open for the 2025 One Young World Leading Scholarship Program. The Leading Scholarship is designed specifically to identify and support outstanding young leaders from countries that are often under-represented at global forums and decision-making spaces. 

Requirements

You are eligible for the Leading Scholarship if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 – 30*
  • Have an evidenced commitment to delivering positive change
  • Demonstrate capacity for leadership
  • Are addressing key local and/or global issues in your work
  • Have a track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas 

*Most delegates are between the age of 18 and 30. The One Young World team will consider applications from those who are older than 30, pending demonstration of appropriate personal impact, initiative, and willingness to engage. We are not able to accept applications from those who will be aged under 18 at the time of the Summit.

University of Edinburgh Julius Nyerere Masters Scholarships 2025 for Tanzanians to study in the UK (Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2025 University of Edinburgh Julius Nyerere Masters Scholarships. The Nyerere Scholarship provides funding for a talented Tanzanian graduate to follow in Julius Nyerere’s footsteps and study at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will receive funding for a one-year postgraduate scholarship in the multidisciplinary MSc in Africa and International Development programme. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens domiciled in Tanzania, who have graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam within the last three years (i.e. 2022-2024) or will be graduating from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2025. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • The award will be made to a Tanzanian citizen domiciled in Tanzania who has graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam within the last three years (i.e., 2022-2024), or will be graduating from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2025, and who is accepted on the full-time MSc Africa and International Development programme.

Award

  • The scholarship will cover Tuition Fees and an annual stipend at the UKRI rate (amount to be advised; for reference, this is £19,237 in 2024/25). The annual stipend will be paid in monthly instalments following full matriculation. Payments are made into the awardee’s UK bank account.
  • Awards are made for one year only. 
  • The award cannot be held alongside any other scholarship funding.

Application Process

  1. Submit your application to the MSc programme following the application process guidance. Please ensure you include your: CV, degree certificates, final/interim transcript(s), transcript grading scale(s), English language evidence, and academic references. 
  2.  Submit your application to the scholarship through the online scholarship application system (see Applying section below).    This involves completing the following in your Personal Statement (up to 500 words/3500 characters including spaces): 

(i) – List two books that you have read in the last five years which have had an impact on you. List the title and author of the books, and explain briefly what each book is about and why it has made an impression on you. 

(ii) – Why do you wish to do further studies? How would a MSc in Africa and International Development facilitate your career goals? 

(iii) – What do you think is one of the most pressing problems in Tanzania that needs research? How would you go about researching it? Who would be interested in or benefit from your findings? How and why? 

(iv) – What are Tanzania’s major advantages in global development? Why and how are they advantageous? Who benefits from them? 

Notification

  • The CAS Selection Panel will meet in February to review the scholarship applications. All scholarship applicants will be contacted with the outcome by the end of March 2025.

The International Higher Education Scholarship Program, central to the TaiwanICDF, offers full scholarships to outstanding students from partner countries to pursue higher education in Taiwan through collaborations with local universities. 

Eligibility Requirements

An applicant must…

1. Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country and/or government of citizenship.

2. Neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student.

3. Satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.

4. Be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior, of the ROC (Taiwan) government (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke a scholarship offered if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).

5. Upon accepting a TaiwanICDF scholarship, not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship (such as the Taiwan Scholarship) in the same academic year in which the TaiwanICDF scholarship would be due to commence.

6. Not be applying for another TaiwanICDF scholarship in unbroken succession to apply for a 2025 scholarship, applicants who have already held a TaiwanICDF scholarship, MOFA’s Taiwan Scholarship or an MOE scholarship must have graduated before July 31, 2024.

7. Provide the highest-level diploma before July 31, 2025. Applicants unable to obtain the certificate by this date may instead apply for next year’s scholarship.

8. Have never had any scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or related institution, nor been expelled from any Taiwanese university.

Benefits

Entitlements: The total scholarship, including airfare (round-trip), housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs and a monthly allowance will be provided by the TaiwanICDF to each student within his/her given award period. The scholarship is itemized as follows:

1. Airfare: The TaiwanICDF shall arrange your most-direct flights to and from Taiwan with Economy Class tickets. Every airline has its own carry-on and check-in luggage policy, including for weight limits and transporting pets. Applicants have been advised to check with the airlines for details before departure.

2. Housing: All students must reside in the student dormitories.

3. Tuition fee: The TaiwanICDF will cover the tuition fee as required by the student’s university.

4. Credit fees: Credit fees vary with the number of credits registered. Credit fees will also be covered as required by the student’s university.

5. Insurance: While in Taiwan, in addition to the mandatory student safety insurance set by the Ministry of Education, each student must be insured for accidental and necessary medical coverage. Insurance fees will be covered for the entire duration of the program.

6. Book costs: Purchasing textbooks as required by the instructors shall be subject to the approval of the director of the student’s institute

7. Allowance:
(1). Master’s Program: Each student shall receive NT$18,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account. (2). Ph.D. Program: Each student shall receive NT$20,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account.

Applicants must complete an online application. Please go to TaiwanICDF Scholarship Online Application System to fill in your application and upload application materials (Application Dates: December 1, 2024 – March 15, 2025). Selection criteria

Selection criteria include the following:

  • The bursary is only awarded to South African citizens with a valid South African ID number;
  • The applicant should demonstrate good academic ability; 8.3. Applicants should be 30 years and below to qualify for the Funza Lushaka Bursary 8.4. Allocation of Funza Lushaka bursaries to Higher Education Institution employees, their spouse and their dependents/children is not permissible. 8.5. The Funza Lushaka bursary does not fund extended programmes. 8.6. The applicant must be accepted into an approved B.Ed. degree or PGCE programme to specialise in two or more of the priority subject areas. 8.7. The applicant should demonstrate good academic ability.

Priority Subject Areas – are subjects that are identified by Provinces and National Departments of Education as subjects where teachers are required (see next section below).

  • Undergraduate studies ✓ 4-year Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed.), specialising in one of the following Foundation Phase (Grade R – 3), Intermediate Phase (Grade 4 – 6) and Senior and Further Education and Training Teaching (Grade 7-12).
  • Graduate studies ✓ One-year Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for graduates whose degrees reflect two priority subjects where one module/course was successfully completed or studied at third year level while the second priority subject was successfully completed or studied at second year level.

    N.B. Only the PGCE for Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching (SPFET) (Grade 7-12) will be funded through the Funza Lushaka Bursary Scheme. N.B. NO PGCE for Foundation and Intermediate Phases

The following must be read before making an application for a Funza Lushaka bursary for 2025

1. Should you have a criminal record, charged of misconduct or dismissed from work, kindly note that you are not eligible to apply for this bursary.
2. Allocation of Funza Lushaka bursaries to Higher Education Institution employees, their spouse and their dependents/children is not permissible.
3. Non-disclosure of the information required as stated in 2 above will be treated as fraud.
4. Applicants should be 30 years and below to qualify for the Funza Lushaka Bursary.
5. To qualify, you must complete the online application. No hard copies application will be accepted.
6. If you already have a teaching qualification, you do not qualify for Funza Lushaka Bursary. Programmes to be funded

Two types of qualifications can be funded as shown below. The qualification must include subjects which will allow the student to specialise as a teacher in at least two priority subject areas.

Benefits

  • Funza Lushaka bursaries cover most of the recipient’s essential expenses. Expenses covered include tuition fees, accommodation including meals, books and learning materials, teaching practice laptop and if possible a small allowance for monthly living expenses.
  • The allocation to any individual student is capped at a specific value. Where the university charges more than the capped value the bursars will have to top up from their own funds. Universities have different cost structures, so the total value of a bursary differs from institution to institution.

Eligibility

  • Social scientists working at African universities with problems related to war, peace, conflict resolution, human rights, democracy and development on the African continent. 

The visiting chair holder is offered a conducive environment to pursue his or her own research, while there is also opportunity for lecturing, holding seminars and contributing to ongoing research activities at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research and the Nordic Africa Institute. 

The holders of the Claude Ake Visiting Chair give, at the end of their stay in Uppsala, a public lecture called the ‘Claude Ake Memorial Lecture.’ The title, theme and content of the lecture should be based on the research project being pursued by the chair holder while in Uppsala. The assumption is that the topic of the lecture shall, in a general sense, relate to the work of Claude Ake, for example in terms of themes or issues covered, or in the theoretical or normative points of departure. The lecture is to be based on a paper prepared and made available to seminar participants and lecture audience in advance of the lecture. The paper is subsequently published jointly by the Department of Peace and Conflict Research and the Nordic Africa Institute.

E-JUST offers “E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarships for STI” – i.e. TICAD8 Scholarships to develop high quality human resources in the field of STI (Science, Technology and Innovation) toward future African STI network and beyond. These scholarships are provided under the cooperation of the Egyptian government and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).

TICAD8 Scholarships are available for applicants who wish to pursue their M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in the fields of Science or Engineering.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants shall be researchers or instructors (or potentially expected to become those) who needs to obtain M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in the fields of Science or Engineering or other specialization.
  • Applicant must be a holder of nationality of a country in Africa except for Egypt.
  • Applicant must have a current home address in an African country.
  • Applicant must not be serving in the military.
  • Applicants should fulfill all of the admission requirements and pass the academic interview and oral examination.
  • Applicants who shall continue their jobs in their home universities or institutions after completion of his postgraduate program at E-JUST are preferable. In this case, Endorsement of the application forms by their home institution is required in order to assure that they would return to home institutions in the future.

E-JUST TICAD8 scholarship is a fully funded scholarship that covers:

  • Tuition fees

Scholarship Term:

  • The scholarship’s term is the period necessary to complete the degree requirements in E-JUST, which should be two years for the M.Sc. degree in addition to six months of preparatory courses (if necessary) and three years for the Ph.D. degree in addition to six months of preparatory courses (if necessary).
  • The scholarship’s support is dependent upon the student good standing with E-JUST graduate program in which he/she is registered. An evaluation progress report will be sent semi-annually to the sponsor reporting about the student’s study level, including the student’s transcript, academic advisor report, and the updated student research situation.
  • Scholarships are full-time scholarships; this means that E-JUST students are fully devoting to their study and research in E-JUST and are not allowed to work elsewhere during their scholarships’ period.

GSK Scholarships 2025/2026 for Future Health Leaders to study in the United Kingdom (Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 GSK Scholarships 2025/2026 for Future Health Leaders. Three scholarships are offered to support the training and development of the next generation of leaders in global health, and strengthen the capacity of health systems and health-related research in Africa. These highly competitive scholarships are available to applicants intending to study on a one-year, full-time, London-based (face-to-face) MSc programme at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must:

  • be nationals of, and resident in, countries in sub-Saharan Africa; and
  • intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa on completion of their MSc year at LSHTM; and
  • confirm that you would not be able to pay for the proposed program of study without access to this fund by applying through the online scholarship portal; and
  • meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements; and
  • hold a first degree at either a first or upper second class equivalency level, and
  • hold an offer of admission for 2025-26 for one of LSHTM’s London-based intensive MSc programmes of study

Award details

Three scholarships are available for the 2025-26 academic year. Each scholarship will cover

  • tuition fees, including any mandatory field trip fees, and
  • a tax-free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 22,000.00.

How to apply

The application process has two steps. To be considered for the funding, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and complete both steps outlined below by the scholarship deadline of 23:59 (GMT) on Wednesday 05 March 2025.

  • Step 1
    Submit an application for 2025-26 for a London-based MSc programme of study, as per instructions under the ‘How to Apply’ tab on the relevant programme of study page.
  • Step 2
    • This will provide you with a temporary password to use the first time you login (via e-vision), which you should then update.

Once you have submitted an application to study you should receive an automated email from the Scholarships Team ([email protected]) providing you with the link to our online scholarships application portal.

  • Please search for ‘GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders’ if you wish to apply for this funding, and then answer all the questions online.  Once you are happy with all your responses you can press submit and you should receive a confirmation of receipt email at your contact email address.

Applications are now open for the 2025 Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships Programme.
The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) programme supports high-calibre international students who wish to study at NFQ levels 9 or 10 (master’s, postgraduate diploma or PhD) in Ireland [1]. The programme is funded by the Government of Ireland in partnership with Irish higher education institutions (HEIs) and managed by the Higher Education Authority. Under the initiative, 60 scholarships are awarded each year for one year of full-time study at NFQ levels 9 or 10.

Eligibility

  • In order to be eligible for a Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship, applicants must have a domiciliary of origin outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
  • Candidates will first need to apply for admission to a relevant master’s, postgraduate diploma or PhD programme offered by an eligible higher education institution as per that institution’s admission procedures.
  • Applicants must have a conditional or final offer of admission to that higher education institution at the time of applying for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship and will be required to submit a copy of same.
  • Prospective candidates who have previously held a GOI-IES scholarship are not eligible to apply. 

Benefits

  • A Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship consists of a stipend amounting to €10,000 for one year of full-time study at NFQ levels 9 or 10. 
  • The awardees’ host higher education institutions are required to give a full fee waiver to the awardees for the year of their scholarship.
  • Successful scholars will be expected to commence their studies in either September or October 2025.

  • Potential applicants should read the call documentation carefully to ascertain whether they are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted via the online portal.
  • All applications require two references to be uploaded by the applicants via the online portal. It is recommended that candidates submit their applications well before the deadline, to avoid technical issues due to heavy server traffic on the respective day.

The Chinese Government is offering scholarships for South African students to study at Chinese institutions starting in the 2025/26 academic year. The Department of Higher Education and Training (the Department) is responsible for nominations for the Chinese Government scholarship programme.

Eligibility

  • South African citizens in good health (medical check will be required for successful applicants);
  • Strong academic record with a minimum 60% average in previous studies;
  • Availability to study in China from September 2025;
  • Demonstrated interest in China and commitment to the development of South Africa;
  • Applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements for entry into the programme of choice.
  • Bachelor’s applicants must have HSK 3 level language certificate and be willing to study in Chinese, applications without a HSK level 3 language certificate will be automatically disqualified.
  • Master’s and doctoral applicants must have HSK 4 level language certificate and be willing to study in Chinese, applications without a HSK level 4 language certificate will be automatically disqualified.

Important: The scholarship does not support any medical degrees and preference will be given to applications for postgraduate studies.

The A.S. Hornby Educational Trust prioritises capacity building for English language teaching in low- and middle-income countries. It awards Master’s degree scholarships to teachers and related professionals with relevant experience and evidenced potential to impact and enhance the field of English language teaching and learning in their home country.

Entry requirements

You should only apply if you satisfy the criteria below.

  • You must be a resident of, and work in a country, defined as Least Developed, Low Income, Lower Middle Income, or Upper Middle Income according to the OECD DAC list (listed here).
  • You must have a minimum of three years’ full time TESOL teaching or related professional experience after your first degree.
  • You must already hold an undergraduate degree (with grades equivalent to UK upper 2nd class honours or higher) or a relevant postgraduate degree.
  • You must first submit a Postgraduate application to the University of Exeter for the MEd TESOL programme to receive an Exeter student number. This number will be sent directly to you on receipt of your Exeter application. Only after that will you be able to submit your application for a Hornby Scholarship as this number must be included in your application.    

Scholarship Benefit

  • Up to ten (10) fully funded scholarships are available to students who meet the University of Exeter’s admission’s criteria for the MEd TESOL Programme for September 2025 entry. 
  • Scholarships will be awarded to academically talented and experienced applicants who are nationals of and work in countries as defined as Least Developed, Low Income, Lower Middle Income, or Upper Middle Income

Applications are now open for the 2025 DW Akademie French-speaking Master’s in International Journalism Programme. The DW Akademie and  the Tours Public School of Journalism / the University of Tours (France) are launching a call for applications for the recruitment of students for the second class of the French-speaking Master’s in International Journalism.

Requirements

  • The MFJI is aimed in particular at media professionals from French-speaking partner countries of German development cooperation in North and West Africa. These include Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin and Côte d’Ivoire. Applications from candidates who are permanently resident in one of these countries will therefore be given priority.

Selection criteria

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

1. higher education diploma obtained less than 10 years ago

For your application to be considered, you must hold a higher education diploma at bachelor’s level (i.e. 180 credits, bac+3) or higher. Your most recent diploma must be less than 10 years old at the closing date for applications.

Although open to all disciplines, applications from graduates in Information and Communication Sciences will be given special attention.

2. professional experience

You must provide proof of at least one year of professional experience in the media and/or journalism. Internships, volunteering and volunteering experiences are taken into account. You must provide proof in the form of a work certificate or a certificate of internship, volunteering or volunteering.

3. proficiency in French: level C1/C2

A C1 or C2 level French certification (valid DALF or TCF for all audiences) must be attached to the application file. Unless otherwise specified, the French test or diploma is mandatory.  

The following are exempt from the French test:  

  • Candidates holding a French baccalaureate (obtained in France or in an AEFE-approved establishment).  
  • Candidates holding a French higher education diploma obtained in France. 
  • Candidates from countries where French is the official language and whose diploma and/or work language is French (French-speaking courses, French-speaking media, etc.). 

It is also appreciated:

  • knowledge of English: level B1 (independent user).

Knowledge of level B1 (or higher) is an asset for studying in Germany and following courses taught in English. However, an English language certification is not required. You do not have level B1 at the time of application? If your application is accepted, it will be strongly recommended that you take an English course in your country of residence before joining the master’s degree.

Scholarships

  • Each year, ten candidates are selected after a two-phase selection procedure: an eligibility phase conditioned by the approval of the application file and an admission phase consisting of an oral interview and a written test. All those admitted benefit from an excellence scholarship covering tuition and living expenses.

Bonn, Tours and the French-speaking world

  • The MFJI has the particularity of taking place successively in Bonn (Germany), Tours (France) and in the students’ country of origin. For the sake of complementarity, it combines academic and professional teaching.
  • A large place is given to practice from the first year. This is followed by a media specialization in the second year. Then, students complete an end-of-studies internship in their respective countries of origin to facilitate the continuation of their careers after obtaining their diploma. MFJI graduates thus have the opportunity to contribute to strengthening the media in their respective countries.

  • At the end of two years of training, students are awarded a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Tours. In addition, they receive a certificate of achievement issued jointly by the DW Akademie and the Public School of Journalism of Tours.

Application Procedure:

The admission procedure takes place in two stages. It includes an admissibility phase based on the file, then an oral interview and a written test for candidates whose file has been accepted.

  • Eligibility phase

The evaluators study the files based on the academic and professional background, personal and professional projects; as well as the social and civic commitment of the candidate. Only complete files are taken into account.

  • Admission phase

Candidates whose files have been accepted at the end of the first phase are invited to an interview. This allows the selection panel to evaluate the candidate’s background and projects in more detail. It is also an opportunity to answer the candidate’s questions. Candidates also take part in a written test . The precise arrangements for this test will be announced to eligible candidates. 

The admission tests will be conducted remotely in March 2025. After deliberation, the results will be communicated by email between April and May.

Requirements for admission to the Mundus Journalism programme:

    The tuition fee for the whole two-year Mundus Journalism master’s programme is known to be low compared to other MA programmes in journalism, worldwide.

Stipend

The programme offer Erasmus+ stipends of up to €6000 to all students**:

  • All Mundus Journalism students can apply for an Erasmus+ stipend. So far, all eligible students have received this stipend. Due to the nature of the Erasmus+ programme, the stipend will be awarded to support the second year studies at the specialisation university.
  • Information and assistance on the Erasmus+ stipend, as well as step-by-step guidance throughout the application process, will be provided by the Erasmus+ Office at Aarhus University after course start.

The IAS Conference on HIV Science is the world’s most influential meeting on HIV research and its applications. This biennial conference presents the critical advances in basic, clinical and operational HIV research that move science into policy and practice. Through its open and inclusive programme, the meeting sets the gold standard of HIV science, featuring highly diverse and cutting-edge research.

Application Procedure:

To apply, eligible candidates will have to answer questions about their organization/institution, experience in the HIV field, motivation to attend the conference, and community benefits of attending.

You will have to upload a letter of recommendation. The letter must:

  • Be written in English by a manager or colleague who is familiar with your work, volunteer experience or studies in HIV and can be your referee
  • Include a letterhead of your referee’s organization, company or institution
  • Be dated within two months of your application submission and signed (original or digital signature) by your referee
  • Explicitly reference you and support your scholarship application for IAS 2025, explaining why you would be a good candidate for the scholarship

Applications are now open for the 2025 Artificial Intelligence for Development in Africa- AI4D Africa Scholarships. The African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) has received a grant from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to support the scholarship of Persons with Disability (PWD) within sub-Saharan Africa. The funding will support the training of PhD students in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) as well as the research work of Early Career Academics in AI & ML. The research work within this program must be in AI that attempt to address any of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The award of the scholarships shall strive to achieve uniform distribution of beneficiaries across Francophone, Anglophone and Lusophone sub-Saharan Africa. Our strategy is to enhance representation of equity-seeking groups. Based on the applications received, we will seek to ensure women fill a minimum of 50% of the positions given their under-representation in the AI field. There will also be an effort to achieve fair distribution in terms of region. The supported studies MUST adhere to responsible AI.

Eligible Countries: 

  • Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini (Formerly Known as Swaziland), Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, The Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Category 1: Registered PhD Students Invitation will target Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and predominantly women, candidates who are already registered for a PhD, have finished course work as well as had their research proposals approved.

Eligibility

  • All applicants must be already registered in an AI study (machine learning, expert system, natural language processing, intelligent robotics etc.) under a supervisor, have finished coursework as well as had their research proposal approved. The applicant must attach a letter of support by their supervisor, a copy of the PhD study admission letter, and evidence of approval of research proposal.
  • All applicants should have competent academic credentials and demonstrate motivation and commitment to pursue an academic career.
  • All applicants should have thorough knowledge of the language of instruction within their host university. (French or Portuguese, English).
  • All applicants must be nationals or permanent residents of an eligible sub-Saharan country. (See the list of eligible countries above).
  • Must be a Person with Disability (PWD) – physical, sensory, intellectual, or any other recognized disability. Should have a PWD registration certificate issued by state/national council/body or any other relevant form of documentation.
  • Have all necessary national or other approvals to conduct the proposed research. Please note, the approval process may be conducted in parallel with the grant application, if necessary.
  • Have the technical capacity – or the ability to create sustainable AI solutions addressing social challenges faced by user communities.

Benefits

  • Each successful student will receive a partial scholarship of up to US$ 28,000 distributed as shown below:
  • Tuition fees for two years up to $ 4,000
  • Research activities up to $ 24,00

Category 2: Early Career Academics (ECAs)

This will mainly target those ECAs who have the capacity to supervise at least MSc students.

Eligibility

  • Each applicant must have held a PhD in AI and ML, for not more than 5 years as at application.
  • All applicants should have competent academic credentials and demonstrate motivation and commitment to pursue an academic career.
  • All applicants must be nationals or permanent residents of an eligible sub-Saharan country (See the list of eligible countries above).

Commonwealth Split-site (PhD) Scholarships 2025/2026 for Study in the United Kingdom (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Commonwealth Split-site (PhD) Scholarships. Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships are for candidates from low and middle income countries, as classified by the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), in the Commonwealth, to conduct research at a university in the UK for 12 months.

Purpose

  • To widen access to UK equipment and expertise for quality doctoral candidates from Commonwealth countries, and to contribute to UK and Commonwealth higher education and research through collaboration and partnerships.

Intended beneficiaries: 

  • High-quality graduates from Least Developed and middle- income countries (including fragile and conflict affected states) who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK but who have the potential to become influential leaders, teachers, or researchers in their home countries, and whose proposed research has a developmental and leadership focus.

Award duration: 

  • 12 months, which can be taken as a single 12-month period or separated into two six-month periods.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for this scholarship, candidates must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be registered for a PhD at a university in an eligible Commonwealth country by the time the scholarship starts in September 2025.
  • Ensure that an institutional or departmental link exists between the home university and proposed UK university. This link must be greater than simply a collaboration between individuals – see section on ‘Tenure and placement’ below for further details. Both supervisors must provide a supporting statement with further details of the link to ensure the application is eligible.
  • Be available to start academic study in the UK in September 2025.
  • By September 2025, hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).
  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
  • Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.

Scholarship Worth

Each scholarship provides:

  • Approved airfare from the Scholar’s home country to the UK and return at the end of the award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of journeys made before the award is confirmed).
  • Approved tuition fees: full fees are covered by agreement between the CSC and the UK university, and Scholars are not liable to pay for any part of the tuition fee.
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,378 per month, or £1,690 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at current levels).
  • Warm clothing allowance, where applicable.
  • Study travel grant towards the cost of study-related travel within the UK or overseas.
  • If a Scholar is widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of £590 per month for the first child, and £146 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if their children are living with them at the same address in the UK.

DLA Piper’s Global Scholarships Programme is a two-year programme that supports talented law students (Fellows) from developing countries. The purpose of this Scholarship is to foster outstanding lawyers and leaders by providing practical learning and development opportunities. This enhances their educational experience and, in the future, their ability to contribute to the rule of law in their home countries and beyond. This Scholarship is not a recruitment programme: its aim is to support students, develop their confidence and aspirations, and assist them in defining and reaching both their educational and professional goals. This may lead them into a commercial environment or to the public service.

Programme Details:

  • DLA Piper invites applications from undergraduate law students in the penultimate year of their degree, and postgraduate law students who would like to pursue a two-year postgraduate qualification in a related field. To be eligible, students must be studying in their home country, which must be a country covered by the programme.
  • The Scholarship has been designed to support high achieving law students who would not otherwise have access to the role models, internships, mentoring and tuition support that this programme provides.
  • Throughout the programme, Fellows are offered a wide variety of support and opportunities to develop skills, build confidence and grow networks. This assists them in succeeding at university and transitioning into further education, training or employment.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:

  1. Be studying law, and in your last to second last year of study in your home country, or
  2. Have completed a Law degree and have been accepted to pursue a Master’s Degree in a related field in your home country
  3. Currently be achieving, or be expected to achieve a first-class degree, or be in the top 10% of your class
  4. Receive a recommendation from your university
  5. Be a citizen of the country you are applying from
  6. Have a good level of spoken and written English as this will ensure you are able to fully participate in the programme

Please note, as part of your application you will need to upload the following documents (as a Microsoft word document or PDF) to support your application:

  • Your university academic transcript (evidence of the grades you have achieved at university).

This program is funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research, and implemented by the French Embassy and Campus France Nigeria.

Fields of Study

  • Management

Applicants must apply through Etudes en France to a public university with tuition fees that do not exceed €4,000 per year.

Note the in France, a Masters program usually lasts two years (M1 + M2). The scholarship covers two academic years if the scholar is admitted in M1, and one academic year if the scholar is admitted in M2.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Have Nigerian nationality and reside in Nigeria
  • Under 30 years old
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in management
  • Have completed National Service
  • First Class or Second Class Upper applications will be given priority consideration
  • Be fully committed to taking up a course of study in France for the academic year from September/October 2025
  • French proficiency is not a requirement for application

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) provides the UK government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives. It operates within the framework of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) and offers a vivid demonstration of the UK’s enduring commitment to the Commonwealth. By attracting individuals with outstanding talent and identifiable potential from all backgrounds and supporting them to become leaders and innovators on returning to their home countries, the CSC’s work combines sustainable development with the UK national interest and provides opportunities for international partnerships and collaboration.

Applicant Eligibility

To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2025.
  • By September 2025, hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).
  • Not have studied or worked for more than one (academic) year or more in a high-income country

Scholarship Worth:

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the CSC and participating UK universities.
