Supported by Joule, Eni School of Entrepreneurship and E4Impact, the program is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of agribusiness innovators passionate about leveraging technology and modern practices to revolutionize the agricultural landscape.

The program stands as a pioneering initiative at the crossroads of agriculture and cutting-edge technology. This Acceleration program is a catalyst for entrepreneurs driven to revolutionize the agricultural sector through precision and innovation.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible candidates must:

  1. Have a minimum viable product (MVP) and demonstrate a level of traction for Incubator (Track 1)
  2. Be legally registered and be post-revenue  for the Accelerator (Track 2)
  3. Have a market-based solution aimed at addressing sustainable agriculture challenges
  4. Preferably with operations in Nairobi, Makueni or Mombasa and its environs
  5. Offer solutions in either of the following:

Applications are now open for the 2025 Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens Your Future in GreenJobs Mentorship Program. The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC), in collaboration with Dubai Cares, Plan International, and Unbounded Associates, proudly presents the “Your Future in Green Jobs” program — designed to empower young changemakers to connect their passion, interests, and skills with meaningful green careers.

Program Components

  1. A FREE self-paced Online Course, which consists of 6 modules and is full of interactive assignments, videos and plenty of new information and reflection spaces for learners to explore climate change and their role in tackling it. Those completing the course receive a certificate of completion, signed by 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) and BKMC Co-chair Ban Ki-moon.
  2. A Mentorship program, which builds on the knowledge of the online course and provides the opportunity for 22 young people between 14 to 20 from around the world to take the first steps in their green career journeys.

  • Completed the Your Future in Green Jobs online course
  • Passionate about climate action and sustainable development
  • Motivated to drive change locally and globally
  • Comfortable communicating in English (upper-intermediate level)

Applications are now open for the 2025 United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) International Law Seminar. The The 59th Session (2025) of the Seminar will take place from 26 May – 5 June 2025. The fifty-ninth session of the International Law Seminar will take place at the United Nations Office at Geneva in connection with the seventy-sixth session of the International Law Commission (ILC).

The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) has organized the International Law Seminar (ILS) annually since 1965, held over a three-week period in conjunction with the annual session of the International Law Commission (ILC).

The ILS is specifically designed for postgraduate students, emerging scholars, government officials, and young practitioners in the field of international law. The purpose of the Seminar is to enhance participants’ understanding of the work of the International Law Commission, as well as the codification and progressive development of international law. Additionally, the Seminar provides a unique opportunity for legal professionals from diverse legal traditions and cultural backgrounds to engage in meaningful dialogue on matters under consideration by the ILC.

In light of the exceptional circumstances arising in connection with the financial situation of the Organization and the related shortening of the seventy-sixth session of the ILC, to be held from only for five-weeks, from 28 April to 30 May 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland, the United Nations Office at Geneva is required to adjust the scheduling of the Seminar for this year.   As a result, the Seminar will take place earlier than in previous years to coincide with the last week of the ILC and be shortened to two weeks.

Requirements

  • The Seminar is designed for postgraduate students in international law, young scholars, government officials, and young lawyers with a focus on international law. 
  • Applicants for the 2025 session must be between 24 and 38 years of age at the time of the Seminar. 
  • This age requirement will be strictly enforced, and any deliberate misinformation regarding age will result in disqualification.

Logistics

  • While participation in the Seminar is free, the United Nations is unable to cover travel or living expenses for all participants. Subject to funding, a limited number of fellowships will be made available to assist participants from developing countries with travel and/or living costs.

This fellowship program is part of Africa CDC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand the bioinformatics workforce across the continent. The fellowship program aims to enhance the bioinformatics capacity of public health practitioners in Africa through intensive short courses, enabling them to effectively analyze and interpret genomic data for public health decision-making.

Proven Climate & Environmental Impact

Includes showcasing tangible outcomes, data-driven results, or successful implementation of solutions that have positively influenced sustainability, carbon reduction, biodiversity, or other environmental aspects. While not mandatory, we highly value applicants who can demonstrate a proven impact on climate and the environment.

Three finalists from each of the six themes will be selected to pitch at the THRIVE Global Impact Summit in Silicon Valley.

Each finalist will receive:

Applications are now open for the 2025 SAP Young Professionals Program. The SAP Young Professionals Program is a free initiative delivered by the Digital Skills Center of SAP. The program, which lasts for 2 months, is designed to give recent graduates the certifications and soft skills required to begin a career as an SAP Associate Consultant. At the end of the training, SAP will work very closely with the program graduates to introduce them to a host of opportunities with SAP customers and partners to work as an SAP Consultant.

SAP CONSULTANTS

The role of an SAP Consultant can be divided into 2 functions: Functional and Technical.

The consultant will contribute to blueprinting, design, implementation, operation, optimization, and upgrade phase of a S/4 HANA project, and provide business process as well as functional expertise, and project guidance to our clients to ensure their investment in SAP software and consulting services will make their business the best run business.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in Angola, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia
  • Candidates must be currently unemployed or employed in a part time/non-permanent role not related to career aspirations;

The Business Incubation Programme at the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) empowers entrepreneurs with innovative solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Are you building a climate-smart business in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, water solutions, eco-friendly manufacturing, or green technology? 

Duration

  • The incubation programme spans 6 to 9 months, during which entrepreneurs get significant support to refine their ventures and skills.

Requirements

  • Legally registered and operational in Ghana for at least three (3) years.
  • Not fewer than three (3) full-time employees.
  • Minimum annual gross revenue of GHC 500,000 in the last two fiscal years.
  • Must operate in one of the five (5) sectors of GCIC:
    • Climate Smart Agriculture
    • Domestic Waste Management
    • Energy Efficiency
    • Water Management & Purification
    • Solar Power

Businesses outside the 5 sectors but with an interest in greening their operations may also apply.

Women-led businesses and businesses focused on water management & purification, especially those providing solutions to the water pollution menace of galamsey in Ghana, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Application Process:

The application process involves five stages, with qualifying entrepreneurs progressing to the next stage until the final cohort is accepted and inducted. 

(1) Expression of Interest

Assessing alignment between the entrepreneur’s venture and GCIC’s focus areas.

(2) Detailed Application

Entrepreneurs complete a form for evaluating business viability, potential impact, and team.

(3) Forum

An open dialogue with GCIC’s team to establish expectations and align objectives.

(4) Presentation

Entrepreneurs showcase their business readiness in a live presentation to a panel.

(5) Due Diligence

A visit to validate information provided.

Requirements

To be eligible for the SAIS Female Founder Award, you must meet the following conditions: 

Legal form
  • Your business is registered and operates on the African continent.
  • Your business has an official certificate of registration.
Founder
  • You are an African female who (co)founded and runs a start-up / growth stage business.
  • You should have technical experience in your area of operation.
Team
  • At least three people who work full-time for the start-up (including yourself as a founder).
Digital product/ service
  • Your product/service is digital or has a strong digital component.
  • Your product is offering an impactful solution in the AgTech, FoodTech or ClimateTech sectors in Africa.
Market access and traction
  • Your company has been registered at least 2 years before submitting the application.
  • Your start-up must have clear evidence of traction (customer base, revenue).
Business model
  • You have a unique value proposition in the market(s) where you operate.
  • Your start-up should have an understandable and convincing business model (clear problem statement and defined customer segment).

The award recognizes female founders from Africa with unique businesses that have a strong digital component and embrace social impact. We honour, support and celebrate your ambition by offering unique opportunities for visibility and further development of your business.

The program was conceived by the Government of Rwanda in 2022 through HangaPitchFest to explore the opportunity that exists for technology enabled startups to solve key issues in SRH to accelerate better outcomes. A catalytic opportunity for 20 entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa looking to improve and scale their innovative and tech-driven SRH solutions.

Themes:

  • Improving maternal health, beyond antenatal care, ensuring safe pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care
  • Tackling unsafe abortion by removing barriers to safe abortion services and post-abortion care
  • Targeting young people (10-24 years) with youth-friendly SRH information and services.
  • Tackling gender-based violence (GBV) by preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence through innovative solutions
  • Meeting the need for contraception by increasing access to contraception and comprehensive SRH education

Eligibility Requirements

Organisation

Must be operating in any country in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Your solution must focus on one or more of the following SRH thematic areas:

  • Improving maternal health, beyond antenatal care, ensuring safe pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care
  • Tackling unsafe abortion by removing barriers to safe abortion services and post-abortion care
  • Targeting young people (10-24 years) with youth-friendly SRH information and services.
  • Tackling gender-based violence (GBV) by preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence through innovative solutions
  • Meeting the need for contraception by increasing access to contraception and comprehensive SRH education

The start-up must present a tech-enabled SRH solution or have the potential to scale through technology.

Must present a working prototype. This can be in the form of a working product demo in video format, a pitch deck explaining how the product works, a functional website, or anything similar.

Must be registered by the relevant authorities . in the country of operation

The start-up should not have raised any venture capital . (except angel investors, family, and friends). Start-ups that may have received grant funding from other incubator programs or hackathons are eligible.

Applicant

  • Must be the Founder / Co-founder and/or hold primary decision-making power in the start-up
  • Must be digitally literate with consistent access to a laptop and internet
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
  • Must have basic English proficiency

Afreximbank offers a unique opportunity to work with industry experts, develop hands-on skills, and contribute to Africa’s economic growth.

Afreximbank Group recognises that as part of its mandate to promote and finance trade in Africa, it needs to facilitate a broader understanding of the problems of African trade and trade finance as well as the principles of trade finance, especially structured trade finance, which is its operating model. By offering good students a chance for an internship with the Group, it is expected that students will leave with a better knowledge of the Afreximbank Group mandate and operating model, which they will put to use as they develop their careers.. In return, it is  expected that the interns will contribute fresh and diverse ideas to the operations of the Afreximbank Group.

The Internship is open to students who are nationals of the Bank’s member countries, a list of which is available on the Bank’s website; students of African descent in the diaspora and non-African students whose vision for the transformation of Africa resonates with the mission of the Afreximbank Group. The programme attracts highly qualified candidates—entry into the programme based on merit.

Eligibility criteria

The programme is open to students who are:

  1. Students with proof of enrollment in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study programmes in a recognised institution of learning in the year of the internship are preferred. The Bank will be especially interested in candidates whose field of study is in : economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, engineering or related fields;
  2. Nationals of the Afreximbank Group member states, students of African descent in the diaspora and non-African students whose vision for the transformation of Africa resonates with the mission of Afreximbank.
  3. Fluency in English or French and a working knowledge of the other. Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese will be an added advantage, and
  4. Candidates must be aged between 20 and 32 in the year in which they apply for the internship;
  5. Any other applicants as may be approved by the President;
  6. Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible to participate in this programme.

Benefits


Interns are expected to take care of their own upkeep during their internship programme, including accommodation, meals, transport, clothing, medical and group personal accident insurance.

However, the Group will, on gratis terms, provide the following to successful interns:

  1. Before commencement, coverage of reasonable return fare transport costs to their internship location using the most economical and direct routing from their institution of learning, in line with the Bank’s travel policy;
  2. A monthly tax-free stipend of USD 1000 and housing allowance of USD 500 for interns relocating from their home countries, payable at the end of each month, to help defray living costs;
  3. Accommodation in a hotel chosen by the Bank (bed and breakfast only) for one week during the induction period, (on arrival to the internship location for interns, based on their previous location)
  4. Transfer to the hotel on arrival and vice versa on departure at the end of a successful internship programme;
  5. Relevant residence visa for the duration of the internship programme, if so required.

Application procedure

Applicants are required to complete an online internship application form along with the following:

  1. Letter of application;
  2. copy of current CV;
  3. copy of valid passport ;
  4. certified copies of relevant academic certificates;
  5. recommendation for internship from the institution of learning they are attending. This should include the proposed period of internship up to a maximum of six months;
  6. Short Statement of Intent (maximum of 1 A4 page) indicating what they expect to gain out of the internship programme;

Thi s regional cohorts bring together young changemakers, offering them tailored support and connections with AI experts, to improve their teams’ ‘AI readiness’ and adopt new solutions for their initiatives. At the heart of ChangemakerXchange is a vibrant close-knit community of 1500+ people from 130+ countries working on a vast range of issues, as well as hundreds of partners on all continents of the world.

The ChangemakerXchange.AI programme is aimed at young changemakers aged 18-35 improving their communities and the world through social and environmental action. We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • This programme supports social and environmental changemakers through bespoke AI upskilling.
  • Participants are invited to join the ChangemakerXchange.AI online cohort from May to November 2025
  • Eligibility criteria:
  • The current and future impact of the organization, as well as the potential for AI to enhance its work and/or reduce the burden on the team.
  • The motivation and willingness of the team and founder to innovate and integrate AI tools.
  • Basic tech savviness of the team.

Applications are now open for the 2025 United Nations Global Compact Climate Ambition Accelerator Programme. The Climate Ambition Accelerator is a six-month accelerator programme designed to equip companies with the knowledge and skills they need to accelerate progress towards setting science-based emissions reduction targets aligned with the 1.5℃ pathway, setting them on a path towards net-zero emissions by 2050.

Through the Global Compact Country Networks around the world, participating companies will gain access to global best practices, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, practical activities, capacity building sessions and on-demand training. Led by the United Nations Global Compact, the Climate Ambition Accelerator aims to scale-up credible climate action across companies of varying sizes, sectors and regions.

Requirements

To take part in the Climate Ambition Accelerator, companies are required to be participants of the UN Global Compact or willing to join, and:

  • Currently engaged with a Global Compact Country Network in your region or willing to join
  • Interested in setting ambitious emissions reduction targets aligned with climate science at the pace and scale required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement
  • Willing to appoint two representatives to participate in the accelerator activities and events and an executive-level representative to follow accelerator developments, provide support and participate in high-level events

Programme Structure

The Climate Ambition Accelerator is structured into key phases:

  • Setting the Scene: Introduction to the programme, participants, and tools.
  • GHG Inventory: In-depth sessions on emissions accounting methodologies and strategies.
  • Setting a Science-Based Target (SBT): Guidance on SBTi tools, approaches, and methodologies.
  • Emissions Management: Identifying strategies for reducing emissions and achieving climate goals.
  • Wrap-Up (Pitch Session): Participants present their key takeaways and outline next steps.

Applications are now open for the 2025 UNESCO World Heritage Young Professionals Forum. As an integral part of the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee, in the framework of the UNESCO World Heritage Education Programme, and with the support of the Republic of Bulgaria, the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2025 will take place from 1 to 8 July 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, under the theme of World Heritage in an interconnected world: Leveraging digital technologies and innovative approaches.

Young Professionals from around the world are invited to submit their applications by filling in this online form. The Forum will enhance the expertise and capacities of young professionals in protecting, preserving, and promoting our natural and cultural World Heritage. Participants will discuss and gain a comprehensive understanding of global concepts related to World Heritage in a rapidly changing and increasingly connected world.

The World Heritage Young Professionals Fora are among the flagship activities of the World Heritage Education Programme, designed to foster intercultural learning and exchange by bringing together young people and heritage experts from different parts of the world to discover new roles for themselves in heritage conservation. They allow the young professionals to gain local insights on heritage management from the experience of the host country and through site visits to World Heritage properties, and also provide an opportunity for them to meet with the members of the World Heritage Committee and its Advisory Bodies and discuss the 1972 Convention and its implementation in greater depth. 

Eligibility Requirements

Participants of the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2025 are expected to be: 

  • Aged between 23 and 32 years (born between 30 June 1993 and 30 June 2002 including) 
  • Experienced in one of these fields: architecture, archaeology, conservation, restoration, urban planning, art history, heritage related studies; 
  • Involved in World Heritage protection, preservation and promotion; 
  • Familiar with/experienced in digital technologies in relation to World Heritage; 
  • Motivated and committed to implementing the outcomes of the Forum in their respective countries; 
  • Committed to enhancing community engagement in the management of World Heritage properties; 
  • Available for the entire duration of the Forum; 
  • Proficient in English and/or French, as the Forum will be conducted in English and French. 

Benefits

  • The participants are expected to arrive on 30 June 2025 and depart on 8 July 2025. All related expenses (economy class flights, accommodation, local transportation, meals and visa fees) will be covered the duration of the Forum.
  • The organizers will also assist in the travel preparations and will provide support to the participants who need a visa.

Swedish Institute’s Impact Pioneers Leadership Programme 2025: Enabling Climate Tech entrepreneurship (Fully Funded to Stockholm Sweden)

Impact Pioneers ’25 is a leadership programme that sets out to convene leaders and enablers working in organisations and networks seeking to promote the nurture and growth of local entrepreneurship and innovation. The programme takes a starting point in the idea that entrepreneurship is a key driver of both economic and social development, as well as a force that can help accelerate the global green transition. The thematic focus of 2025 is ‘Enabling Climate Tech Entrepreneurship’, with ‘Climate Tech’ referring to technologies developed and used with the explicit purpose to help people, governments and others both address the sources and impacts of climate change.

Are you dedicated to nurturing and growing your local ecosystem for Climate Tech entrepreneurship? Impact Pioneers ’25 a leadership programme that welcomes you to exchange experiences with an international network of peers and gain first hand insights and experience from Sweden’s most successful Climate Tech entrepreneurship leaders and environments. The programme runs across 8 weeks, mixing weekly online sessions with a one-week onsite summit in Stockholm in October 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

The application is open to entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders and practitioners who work in organizations and networks that want to develop their support for entrepreneurs with businesses related to sustainablility and green transition. More specifially, we imagine applicants to work as:

  • Startup hub/accelerator/incubation founders and managers
  • Tech and innovation hub founders and managers
  • University accelerator/incubator managers
  • Public sector employees involved in work that supports Climate Tech entrepreneurship

In 2025, the application is open to 26 programme countries (applicants must be a citizen and resident of one of them):

AFRICA: Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia
ASIA: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen and resident of one of the 26 programme countries
  • Work in an organisation or business systematically working to nurture and grow entrepreneurs.
  • Have the mandate to develop new international partnerships for your organisation/business.
  • Have a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
  • Be willing to actively participate, provide support and share their experience and knowledge with other participants.
  • Have identified opportunities and challenges that could be worked on during the programme to help their organisation improve its contribution to the local Climate Tech entrepreneurship ecosystem

An applicant’s home organisation/business must also meet the following requirements:

  • Be locally owned and based in one of the programme countries.
  • Be somehow hosting/coaching (or be in the process of starting up hosting/coaching of) entrepreneurs with business ideas that are related to sustainability and green transition.
  • Run the organization/business with focus on contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Programme structure and format


Commitment and expectations
Impact Pioneers ’25 is scheduled to run across 8 weeks during fall 2025. A final schedule and timeline will be provided upon acceptance to the programme.

  • Participants should be prepared to spend around two hours per week in online activities such as participating in sharing sessions and working a personal Impact Journey project.
  • As a participant, you should also be able to join the one week summit onsite in Stockholm in October, exact dates TBD.

Benefits

Participation in Impact Pioneers 25 is free of charge**.
The Swedish institute arranges and covers costs related to:

  • Learning programme
  • Flights to and from Sweden for the Sweden week onsite visit
  • Accommodation, meals, transportation and insurance while in Sweden

**With the exception of Saudi participants who carry their own costs for flights and accommodation. 

Programme components:

  1. Online networking, sharing and masterclass sessions 
    Networking, sharing and masterclass sessions will be conducted online in both large and small group formats (organised by region and mixed). Other than the social element, they will include case sharing and high-quality masterclasses, highlighting latest developments within the field of Climate Tech entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainable development and green transition. These sessions aim to offer participants new network, perspectives, cases, tools and frameworks.
  2. Sweden week, onsite October 2025 (dates TBD)
    During this week, programme participants will gather in Stockholm, Sweden. The week will be an interactive and immersive onsite experience, offering a unique opportunity to network with peers and engage with Swedish Climate Tech entrepreneurship leaders and experts. The week will feature workshops, field visits to leading innovation hubs and impact entrepreneurship environments in Stockholm. This experience aims to strengthen participants’ Climate Tech entrepreneurship network, and create new connections with the Swedish entrepreneurship ecosystem. Participation in Sweden week is exclusive to participants who have successfully completed the programme’s previous components.
  3. Way forward. In the final component of Impact Pioneers ’25, participants make a plan on how to put their new skills and network into action. They share new perspectives, cases, tools and frameworks with colleagues and stakeholders in their local ecosystems, develop ideas for future partnerships across the international peer group and establish further relationships with the Swedish embassy and related network in their home country.

UN DESA is offering one funded spot for youth from the Global South and at least one self-funded spot for youth from every region to participate at the upcoming Sixth Global Conference on Climate and SDG Synergies that will take place on 27-28 May 2025 at the UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

The Sixth Global Conference on Strengthening Synergies between the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a key platform to accelerate integrated climate and sustainable development action. Co-convened by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat, and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the conference will bring together policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to drive transformative solutions for a more sustainable future.

Requirements

  • MGCY is able to nominate at least one self-funded young person and a maximum of one funded young person from the Global South to attend the Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark through support from the UN DESA. 
  • Please use this form to apply for either, the self-funded or funded nomination!
  • When you apply, please make sure to submit a bio that is detailed and connected with the theme of the conference. This is extremely important as many a time we have to send the bio to the UN or organizers and they can reject the nomination if the bio is not significantly connected to the theme of the event.


Selection process:

Applications are now open for the 2025 UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in STEM. The UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in STEM aims to boost research, education, and global cooperation to tackle challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It recognises young innovators whose work drives global socio-economic progress, while encouraging interest in science, particularly among women and girls, to foster gender equality and promote scientific careers. 

Awarded biennially to five laureates from the five geographic regions of UNESCO (Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and North America and Latin America and the Caribbean), the Prize includes $50,000, a medal, and a diploma for each winner. The UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize aligns with UNESCO’s focus on Gender Equality, aiming to inspire more women to pursue STEM careers. 

Eligibility criteria

  • Achievements: candidates must have gained recognition for significant achievements or contributions in one or more of the following areas:
    • Research in STEM, including emerging technologies
    • STEM education, dissemination of research findings, creativity, and innovation
    • International or regional cooperation in STEM
  • Age: candidates must be under 40 years old at the time of the application deadline.
  • Gender equality: nominations of young women scientists are strongly encouraged to promote gender balance in STEM fields.

The 19th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, from 15-19 April 2026. WCA is the only truly global anaesthesiology congress, representing 130+ countries and offering a diverse scientific programme with 20 focused tracks tailored to sub-specialties in anaesthesiology and critical care. 

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be: 

  • Anaesthesiologists who have completed their training within the last five years 
  • Be members of their National Society of Anaesthesiologists  
  • Be from a low- or middle-income country. 
  • Have at least a basic understanding of English to ensure full engagement during the congress. 
  • Be a first-time scholarship recipient (i.e., not having previously received a WFSA scholarship) 

Preference will be given to: 

  • Early-career anaesthesiologists. 
  • Applicants working in teaching hospitals. 
  • Applicants who have submitted an abstract for WCA2026.

TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme 2025 for Postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa.

Applications are now open for the 2025 TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme. The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme provides postdoctoral researchers living and working in sub-Saharan Africa with the opportunity to make a three-month ‘Cooperation Visit’ to a research institute in Germany. Such visits must be undertaken within 12 months of the award.

The aim of the visit is to initiate research collaboration between African and German scientists with the ultimate goal of developing longer-term links, perhaps through other Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, or German Research Foundation) programmes. DFG will cover travel expenses and provide subsistence costs for the stay in Germany. The administration and financial operation of TWAS is undertaken by UNESCO in accordance with an agreement signed by the two organizations.

Eligibility

  • Applicants need to hold a PhD obtained not earlier than 2020; however, for female applicants the year limit for the PhD can be extended by two years per child, i.e. for a woman with one child the PhD year would be 2018 or later. This exception for female applicants has a limit of three children which equals a maximum of six years. Therefore, the PhD of a female applicant with three or more children should not have been obtained before 2014.
  • Applicants must be engaged in a science system (including graduate and postgraduate training, research, teaching) in a sub-Saharan African country for at least five years prior to the call.
  • Applicants already on site in Germany are not eligible.
  • Applicants with an established collaboration with the intended host are not eligible. Examples of established collaboration include one common publication with the host Professor; the host Professor was previously the applicant’s MSc or PhD supervisor; or other types of extensive collaboration. Preparatory interactions (such as virtual meetings, including other forms of communication) prior to the planned guest visit are encouraged.
  • Previous recipients of a TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visit cannot reapply. For a second visit, the German host can apply for funding under the DFG Initiation of International Collaboration Programme.
  • Women scientists are especially encouraged to apply.
  • All academic fields will be considered.

Application Procedure::

Applicants must complete the online application form by clicking on the ‘Apply now’ button at the bottom of this page. While filling in the online application, applicants also need to upload the following documentation:

  • scanned copy of your passport, even if expired (page with your name and surname);
  • a recent invitation letter from a German host:
  1. – maximum two pages on the host institution’s letterhead paper,
  2. – it should contain the proposed time of the visit (up to 3 months) and should refer to the proposed cooperation. The results of the selection will be available in January/February 2026. Therefore, the visit can take place between February 2026 and February 2027.
  3. – It should be made evident that the applicant and the proposed host have mutually agreed on the research proposal that will be submitted;
  4. – confirmation that the necessary research facilities are available;
  • two reference letters from senior scientists familiar with your work. The letters need to be on headed paper and signed;
  • copy of the PhD certificate;
  • evidence of proficiency in either English or German;
  • supporting statement from the Head/Director of the applicant’s home institute: it must confirm that the Head/Director is favourable to the application and that the applicant will be granted leave to take up the cooperation visit in Germany if awarded.

Awarded annually since 2018, the Arrell Global Food Innovation Awards recognize unique approaches and achievements of individuals and organizations around the globe. The prizes of $100,000 can be awarded in research innovation and community engagement innovation.

This award, valued at $100,000, recognizes global excellence in the broad area of food innovation and community impact. In 2025, one award will be given to an individual or group who has contributed to improved nutritional health and/or food security, with a focus on strengthening disadvantaged communities.

Criteria

The criteria for awarding the Arrell Global Food Innovation Award is as follows:

  • The individual or group being nominated will have made exceptionally significant and documented contributions at the community level in markedly improving nutrition, including access to, or distribution of food.
  • The nomination package must clearly demonstrate alignment with our mission, which is to produce more healthy and nutritious food with less environmental impact and economic inequality, “more with less”.
  • The nomination package should not be a proposal or a request for funding.
  • Nominees must be able to attend the award ceremony and ancillary events.

Eligibility

  • Citizens of any country are eligible for nomination, with no restrictions on gender, race, religion, creed or residency.
  • Nominations may come from private companies, academic institutions, governmental units, charitable foundations, and not-for-profit organizations. In the case of multiple nominations from a single organization, only the one with the latest date will be accepted.

The MTN Media Innovation Programme (MIP) is a 6-week long programme spread across six months for media practitioners in the Nigerian space. The programme will increase the knowledge and skill base of the participants and help them understand the changing media landscape, and how to effectively use technology to create impactful media content.

The 4th Cohort of the 6-week programme which is fully sponsored by MTN Nigeria is slated to commence on May 19, through October 24, 2025, with twenty (20) Nigerian journalists from different media outfits who scale through the selection process.

Cohort-4 of the programme will build on the successes of the last three Cohorts to further consolidate its leading position as a foremost impactful training programme ever endowed for Nigerian journalists. Past Cohorts have shown the capacity of the programme to bring about a positive shift in the careers of the beneficiaries, enabling many of them to skyrocket to new positions and responsibilities after the training. As a multi-donor fund, the IFCD promotes South-South and North-South cooperation, while contributing to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including gender equality and poverty reduction.

Through an open and competitive process, UNESCO fund innovative projects with up to US$ 100,000, implemented over a 12–24-month period. The projects are evaluated based on their relevance, feasibility, financial management capacity and expected results.

  • Public authorities and institutions from eligible countries (developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention) • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from eligible countries (developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention) that meet the definition of civil society*

Applications are now open for the 2025 UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development. The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for sustainable development, funded by the Government of Japan, consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each recipient. It was awarded for the first time by the Director-General of UNESCO in November 2015.

The Prize and award winners recognize the role of education in connecting the social, economic, cultural and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. It was established by the Executive Board of UNESCO at its 195th session within the framework of the Global Action Programme (GAP) on ESD and officially announced at the UNESCO World Conference on ESD (10-12 November 2014, Aichi-Nagoya, Japan).

Programme Details

  • Awards: Three recipients will receive USD 50,000 each.
  • Frequency: The prize is awarded once per biennium (i.e., 2021, 2023, and 2025).
  • Management: The current cycle (2020-2025) was established following the Executive Board’s decision in November 2019.
  • Evaluation: Winners are selected by the Director-General of UNESCO based on recommendations from an independent jury of five experts.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the UNESCO-Japan Prize on ESD, the nominated project or program must:

  • Be ongoing and have been running for at least four years.
  • Demonstrate significant impact relative to the resources invested.

Applications are now open for the 2025 WFP Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator Program. The WFP Innovation Accelerator is launching the second edition of the Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator (HIA), powered by the Government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. HIA aims to support technology-powered solutions addressing pressing challenges faced by vulnerable populations and humanitarian actors. The platform supports selected ventures and solution providers with financial, technical, and methodological support from the WFP Innovation Accelerator and its partner ecosystem.

Requirements

  • The WFP accelerator invites applications from established startups, companies, NGOs, and organizations ready to scale impactful solutions for global humanitarian challenges to showcase their innovations that fit under one of four challenges areas.

Countries: applications from organizations implementing solutions in the following regions:

Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Chad, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon, Libya,, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar Niger, Palestine, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, Ukraine and Yemen

  • Your organization must be an established legal entity (for-profit, non for profit, social business, NGO, INGO) for at least 2 years.

  • Your innovation should have a clear pathway to scale and a potential plan to implement during the 12-month Sprint with the available funding. 
  • Solutions must be beyond the prototype/pilot phase, with demonstrated evidence of user adoption, operational feasibility, and readiness to scale impact.
  • Applicants are expected to build connections with the innovation ecosystem of Luxembourg

The Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP) rewards innovation and social entrepreneurship for sustainable development in Africa and the Middle East. An undeniable catalyst for progress, technological innovation can only reach its full potential if it is supported by a solid, viable business proposition that meets current and future social and environmental needs.

As well as encouraging innovation, Orange also rewards the positive entrepreneurial spirit of dynamic start-ups within the framework of its Social Venture Prize. Since 2011 this International Grand Prix competition has welcomed start-ups from 17 countries in Africa and the Middle East. It identifies, rewards, and supports business propositions that make a positive social and environmental impact.

Applications are now open for the 2025 Rise Up Leadership and Advocacy Accelerator training program. Global nonprofit Rise Up will select a group of 25 local civil society leaders from Kenya to participate in its Leadership and Advocacy Accelerator training program to advance gender equity and justice in girls’ education July 14-19, 2025.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

  • Civil Society leaders of minimum 18 years of age at the time of the training in July 2025.
  • Currently working in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado or Machakos Counties. • Has a personal interest and current commitment to promoting gender equity broadly in the three priority areas of health, education, and economic opportunity for women, girls, and gender-nonconforming people.
  • Represents or works closely with marginalized groups from socially or economically marginalized communities, women and girls with disabilities, ethnic and/or religious minorities, and other historically disadvantaged populations.
  • Ability to participate in an in-person training from July 14-19, 2025, with some virtual sessions pre-and-post training. Please note that Rise Up will cover all costs related to program participation, including transportation, accommodation, food, and materials.
  • Currently works at a non-profit organization, civil society organization, media organization, or government organization at a level of coordination or management and has some level of decision-making power.
  • Has the support of your organization’s leadership to participate in Rise Up’s Leadership and Advocacy Accelerator training.
  • To be eligible for a grant, Rise Up requires organizations to be legally registered incountry and set up to receive international funds. Entities that are not registered can be sponsored by another financial entity or fiscal sponsor. Note: Government organizations are not eligible to receive grants through this program.
  • Proficient in oral and written English.

YOUTH IMPACT – BECAUSE YOU MATTER – For Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action is an initiative led by UNESCO in collaboration with Nestlé, powered by the Nestlé Youth Entrepreneurship Platform. It seeks to support young people to help their communities through climate action and environmental sustainability initiatives, by providing them with resources and skills necessary to implement their innovative projects.

    Eligibility Requirements
    The project’s primary and direct beneficiaries will be young individuals, youth-led organizations, enterprises, associations, or networks who:
  • Are identified as “youth” in their respective countries or (in lack of a national definition) within the age range of 18-30 years old from the beginning to the end of the project.
  • Engage in activism and changemaking initiatives, entrepreneurialism, either individually or as members of entities/associations.
  • Youth-led organization and networks, seeking impact at grassroots level, with regional, national, local scope, or chapters of international organizations, and based in the country where their proposal will be implemented.
  • All applications will propose projects that are:
  • relevant to the Initiative’s themes as elaborated above
  • implemented within 6 months
  • local or national in scope
  • delivered by a team of at least 3 young people with a clearly identified project leader.

    To this end, 100 project leaders will be selected worldwide to receive:
  •  Grant of USD 8,500 each, and
  • Training and one-to-one mentorship, throughout their project implementation.
  • 100 grants of USD 8,500 each are available globally, with 20 grants designated for each UNESCO region: Africa, Arab Region, Asia and Pacific, Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean. 
  • The 100 grantees will embark on an exclusive 6-month transformative journey of training and mentoring with experts from Nestlé and UNESCO.
