Call for Nominations: OHCHR-EAA Youth Advisory Board

OHCHR invites youth-led and youth-focused organizations to nominate young people to become part of the new cohort of the Youth Advisory Board that will help empower youth to stand up for their human rights.

The Youth Advisory Board will be established by OHCHR and Education Above All (EAA) for the new phase of the project “Working with and for youth in vulnerable situations including conflict, violence, and insecurity“. To ensure the meaningful engagement of young people in the project, a new cohort of the Youth Advisory Board will be established that will work in partnership with EAA and OHCHR on the implementation of the project.

Nomination Requirements

The nominees should correspond to the following criteria:

  • 18-30 years old (as of 8 April 2024).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in advocating for human rights, including the rights of young people, at local, national, regional, or international level.
  • English language proficiency (working level).

The Youth Advisory Board will be expected to guide and monitor the implementation of the project, develop capacity-building activities for youth, enhance and promote “YES”, and participate in the project events and activities.

The mandate of the Youth Advisory Board will run until the end of the project, planned for the end of 2025.

Members of the Youth Advisory Board will exercise their role on a voluntary basis (without remuneration).

Benefits

  • Travel expenses for their participation in the project events and activities will be fully covered by OHCHR.
