Applications are now open for the 2025 Allan Gray Makers StartUp Academy. The Allan Gray Makers Startup Academy is an 8-month incubator programme designed to provide entrepreneurship training and comprehensive support to aspiring artisan entrepreneurs aiming to establish new businesses in the plumbing and electrical trades.
Requirements
- Age: 18-35
- Relevant trade: Electrical/Plumbing
- Unemployed or self-employed (not studying)
- Qualified electrician or plumber with a trade test
- OR, have 3 years work experience in the relevant trade and are ready to take the trade test
- OR, N2 certificate and 3 years work experience in either the electrical or plumbing trade
Benefits
- Participants will receive a transport allowance of R3000 per month to help cover costs associated with attending the programme.
Required documents
- N2 Certificate/National Technical Diploma/Trade Test if applicable
- Proof of work experience
- National Senior Certificate (is advantageous)
- Certified Copy of ID
