The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) fourth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers will convene on 13 January 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the margins of the thirteenth session of the IRENA Assembly. The Assembly is the Agency’s ultimate decision-making authority where Heads of State/Government, Ministers and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the energy transition.
The 2023 IRENA Youth Forum will strengthen youth networks and connect them with global thought leaders, government representatives, and IRENA experts. The Forum will create a space for young people to contribute to the Agency’s mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment to achieve climate objectives and advance the sustainable development agenda.
Through a series of interactive sessions, including open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the global energy discourse.
Requirements
Interested youth of a minimum age of 16 years can submit their application by completing an application form and providing the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Brief essay on a topic of particular interest to youth pertaining to renewable energy and sustainable development; this could also include a project the applicants have worked on or are working on at the moment (1000/1200 words)
The deadline for individual applications is 29 October 2022 (at midnight, Abu Dhabi local time). Participants will be selected based on their commitment to accelerating progress on renewable energy deployment.
