As a leading institution of learning and research, the university through C4DLab, the innovation and incubation hub, and strategic industry partners is running a year-long prestigious Innovation Fellowship.
The competitive fellowship will give 15 select fellows an opportunity to solve real-life local problems while applying the 21st century 4Cs skills and explore human-centered design thinking methodologies. The fellows will interact with a community of leading innovation experts from various industries, and join a network of changemakers curious to ignite sustainable growth and development in Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
To be admitted, the fellow will be required to have satisfied the following requirements:

Masters-level student or final-level undergraduate in any field.

Curious about innovation and particularly application of Design Thinking to solving real-life local problems.

Submit evidence of challenges that one has attempted to solve, CV and practical work portfolio
-
Submit 2 recommendation letters (One academic referee & one professional referee)
-
Available to commit close to a year-long program allocating an average of 15 hours per week to the fellowship program
-
Demonstrated passion and interest in innovation challenges.
Learning Approach
The select fellows will undertake a deep immersion into four pillars that would prepare them as innovators.
The four aspects are:

21st century 4 C’s skills of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity.

Principals and practices of Innovation, Fundamentals of Problem Based Learning and Design Thinking.

Multi-disciplinary practical problem-solving.
-
Practical experience in planning and executing the Nairobi Innovation Week.
