LDI Africa is a nonprofit social enterprise that contributes to the socio-economic development of Africa by deploying the talents of young African Diaspora and youth citizens from outside of the continent to nonprofits and small businesses that are struggling to attract skilled professionals.
The Emerging Institutions Fellowship Program (EIFP) provides hands-on service opportunities for emerging young business leaders (MBA/MA students and professionals) from around the world in Africa’s (Nigeria and South Africa) leading financial institutions, private equity and venture capital firms.
Through this program, Fellows; students from leading universities and mid-level business professionals from around the world, will work with private equity and venture capital companies in further enhancing the capacity of their portfolio businesses for a duration of three to twelve months. During this time Fellows will be helping these businesses strengthen their structures, systems, competitiveness strategies and areas of high priority.
Ultimately the goal of this program is to collaborate with private equity and venture capital companies in further strengthening the next phase of globally competitive African businesses.
Eligibility:
Fellows are MBA/MA students or mid-level professionals. Fellows must be keenly interested in working towards the sustainable development of businesses in emerging markets, particularly in Africa; using their overseas experience to help SMEs on the continent further scale.
Fellows must have a minimum of one year work experience (internship counts) in their country of residence preferably but not exclusively, in enterprise development, management consulting, strategy, finance or social enterprise.
The specific desired skills and experience will depend on the host organization; in this case what the private equity / venture capital company considers a priority of its portfolio businesses.
