Students from all countries in Africa are invited to participate in the FACES 2017: African student Cellphone Film Competition. The Competition is part of the 26th African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, due to be held in Mauritius from 18-23 September 2017. The winning entries will be screened at the Moot Court Competition.
The purpose of the Competition is to encourage students from Africa to express themselves and to engage with issues of relevance to Africa, using available cellphone technology, and to enhance the Moot Court experience.
Requirements:
- Those who make the film must be registered as students at a university or college in Africa during 2017. Group work, especially on an inter-disciplinary basis, is encouraged.
- Each film must be a maximum of 5 minutes long, and filmed on a smart phone, ideally one supporting HD. It may be edited on a computer or other device, using any software available to you. Please pay particular attention to sound during and after filming to ensure that all dialogue and sound effects are audible.
- The words FACES 2017: African student Cellphone Film Competition must appear at the start of the film. Crew and crew information (including university or college affiliation) must appear in the end credits.

Benefits:
- One student from the University of Pretoria , and one student from another university in Africa, will win a trip to screen their video at the Moot Court Competition in Mauritius.
