Application Deadline: December 2016
The 5th edition of the Airbus Fly Your Ideas global student challenge, organized under the patronage of UNESCO, has launched. Students around the world with a passion for engineering and innovation are invited to register to this unique competition, which is an opportunity for them to develop their ideas, to address real challenges facing the aviation industry and to develop valuable skills for their future careers. This includes learning teamwork, project management, as well as communications skills.
Airbus Fly Your Ideas is a worldwide competition challenging students from all disciplines to develop new ideas and innovate with Airbus for the future of aviation.
Genuine industry challenges, linked to the commercial aircraft industry identified by Airbus, provide real and concrete aviation problems for students to solve. Students are asked to test, prototype and visualise their ideas to create genuine solutions in Round 2. These solutions can either be innovations for ‘Now’ or innovations for the ‘Future’; inviting a cross section of ideas that are both applicable today and deliver blue sky thinking for tomorrow.
Requirements:
- The competition is open to teams of 3 to 5 students from around the world, currently studying for a Bachelors, Masters, MBA or PhD degree in any academic discipline.
- There are 3 progressively challenging rounds, followed by a final, when the 5 finalist teams present their ideas to a revered jury panel of Airbus and industry experts.
Challenges
- Students are invited to propose ideas that respond to five key challenges the aviation industry faces in the 21st century.
