2015/16 Emerald/Association of African Business Schools (AABS) Case Study Competition

Emerald and the Association of African Business Schools (AABS) are delighted to announce the launch of the 2015-2016 Emerald/AABS Case Study Competition. The aim of the competition is to encourage and promote the development of high-quality teaching case material derived from real life situations in Africa.

With the rise of experiential learning, case studies remain a fundamental teaching tool in every subject area within the business school discipline. Those cases with a local focus are critical to developing business school curriculum in the emerging economies; Emerald and the AABS are devoted to developing high-quality cases focused on the African region.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be of African origin or be based at an African institution.
  • All case submissions that fulfill the criteria will be considered for international publication

Prize:

  • A cash prize of US$1,500 will be awarded to the most outstanding case.

How to enter

Entries should be submitted via the ScholarOne Manuscripts submission and peer review system. Registration and access can be found at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/eemcs

When prompted, please select the AABS special issue as the issue to which you are submitting.

All cases must be prepared in accordance with the Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies collection author guidelines. Page two of the guidelines contains instructions on submitting through ScholarOne Manuscripts.

The following documents must be submitted:

  1. Case title page
  2. Case
  3. Case teaching note
  4. A Consent to Publish Release Form signed by the management of the company or individuals included in the case.

Important dates

Submission deadline: 2 March 2016.
AABS Connect Conference: 23-25 May 2016 at Lagos Business School, Nigeria.
