Google.org is looking for your biggest and best ideas for how technology can expand opportunity and independence for people with disabilities. Google is committing USD 20 million in grant funding toward this goal, some of which may be awarded to organizations identified through this call for ideas.
- Exciting ideas are already becoming a reality. For instance, 3D-printed prosthetic limbs, eye-controlled communication software, and remote hearing diagnostics are part of a wave of current innovations that have the potential to change the trajectory of solutions available to people with disabilities.
Google hopes that the Google Impact Challenge will propel even more technological innovation that will create meaningful and positive change for people with disabilities.
Requirements:
Organization Eligibility
- Nonprofits and public charities from any country are eligible to submit an idea. Your organization must hold valid and current charity status as determined by the legislation of your country of incorporation.
Language
- All ideas must be submitted in English.
How to Apply
Ideas must be submitted via online portal and will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Ideas should be
- transformative and address not only the change you seek for your organization, but also the change you want to see in the world.
- apply technology in a way that is innovative and effective. Technology shouldn’t just make your existing work more efficient; it should create or enable entirely new solutions and approaches.
- involve the development of cutting-edge technology.
- be able to articulate a way in which it could ultimately reach a large number of people.
