Duration

The internship is for a period of three months.  The internship period for Winter/Spring 2015 is from 12 January until 31 May 2015.

The Hague Institute is now accepting applications for Its Winter internship program.

Interns provide crucial support to the operations of The Hague Institute. The Institute supports interns to develop skills in research, project management and event organization. Interns are recruited on a rolling basis to one of two positions:

The Hague Institute for Global Justice offers genuine supervision of the internship, a dynamic and flexible work environment, and motivated and energetic staff.

 

Program Intern

The work of the Program Intern is focused on The Hague Institute’s three research programs:  Conflict Prevention, Rule of Law and Global Governance. Program Interns provide research and administrative support and can expect to work on a wide range of projects.

Qualifications and Criteria for Selection

  1. At least a Bachelor’s level degree in the field of public international law, international relations, political science, conflict studies, or related disciplines. Current undergraduates are also encouraged to apply.
  2. Demonstrated commitment to the mission and objectives of The Hague Institute and a strong desire to work in the field of peace and justice.
  3. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Fluent in the English language and preferably one other official language of the UN.

Communications Intern

The Institute seeks a highly motivated and detail oriented Communications Intern who will provide valuable support in event organization, digital outreach and traditional communications. The role requires excellent organizational skills as well as a keen interest in the substantive issues addressed by The Hague Institute.

Qualifications and Criteria for Selection

  1. At least a Bachelor’s level degree in journalism, communications, public international law, international relations, political sciences, conflict studies, or related disciplines. Applications from current undergraduates are also welcomed.
  2. Superior writing and communications skills
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of social media outreach
  4. Commitment to the mission and objectives of The Hague Institute and a strong desire to work in the field of journalism, communications, marketing and peace and justice.
  5. Interest in current affairs
  6. Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  7. Native or near-native command of the English language and preferably one other official language of the UN.

Internship

  • The internship provides a stipend of 600 EUR per month.
  • Additional expenses, including housing, travel, living expenses and medical insurance connected with the program must be borne by interns.
  • The Hague Institute is unable to support visas for internships.
  •   All applicants must be eligible to work in the Netherlands to apply for the internship.
