Application Deadline: December 31st 2014
Are you a developer, technologist, designer, community organizer, or policy nut that wants to help save the Internet, and keep it free and open? Apply to become a 2015 Ford-Mozilla Open Web Fellow.
The Ford Foundation and Mozilla are joining together to create the Ford-Mozilla Open Web Fellows program. This program is designed to find emerging technical leaders who have a passion for Internet policy and advocacy.
Each year, a group of developers, technologists, hackers and data crunchers are selected to spend 10 months working as a Ford-Mozilla Open Web Fellow embedded in our host organizations. Fellowships are paid positions, and emphasize open-source development that strengthens specific organizations and the larger policy and advocacy community
Who Should Apply:
- Emerging leaders who have a passion for informing the public policies that impact the Internet.
- People with a track record of making and contributing to projects – through a variety of skill sets, including technology, organizing, and education — and an interest in working with Mozilla and our host organizations on specific initiatives to advance and protect the free and open Web.
- Women and other under-represented participants in technology are strongly encouraged to apply for a Ford-Mozilla Open Web Fellowship.
The 2015 Fellowships
- Five nonprofit organizations around the world will be hosting our five Ford-Mozilla Open Web Fellows in 2015.
- During the Fellowship, we will immerse the next generation of leaders in projects that create better technical understanding among civil society and policy makers.
- It will also create a stronger affirmative agenda that creates better public awareness of Internet policy issues, and improved cross-sector coordination.
