Eager to shape new justice innovations that help the lives of people and businesses? Join the Forum on the 3rd and 4th of December 2015 at the Peace Palace in The Hague!

The Innovating Justice Forum is a two-day international event in The Hague catering to more than 150 participants. It is held annually by HiiL Innovating Justice to discuss and support innovative ways of approaching justice worldwide.

The Forum has in the past centered on issues such as Living Wages (2014), Human Rights (2013) and Basic Justice Care for Everyone (2012). Other thought-provoking issues are always part of the agenda. This year, HiiL will highlight the State of Innovation and the justice needs of SMEs in East and West Africa.

The Innovating Justice Forum is a unique event that connects innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, private companies, governments, NGOs, academics and foundations. Among the many organisations represented are, for example, national Parliaments, Cordaid, Oxfam, Supreme Courts, Microsoft, Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs, OECD, USAID, World Bank and the World Economic Forum.

    Where? : Lagos, Nairobi and The Hague.

    HiiL Innovating Justice, together with the Global Agenda Council on Justice and the Ford Foundation, has embarked on a pioneering new endeavor to accelerate justice ventures in East and West Africa.

  • The SME Empowerment Innovation Challenge is geared towards finding and strengthening new initiatives that can empower startups and SMEs. The Forum want to support the best innovations and address regulatory hurdles and bureaucratic red tape faced by youth-led startups in East and West Africa.

  •  Benefits

    The winners of the SME Empowerment Innovation Challenge will be announced at the Innovating Justice Forum on 3 & 4 December 2015. The three winners will receive the Innovating Justice Awards.

    Prior to the Forum, the innovators will be personally prepared to pitch their innovation. HiiL and Next2Company connect the finalists to potential partners to accelerate their business.

    The winners of the SME Empowerment Innovation Challenge can win up to $70,000 in seed funding.

  • The innovators present their innovation to an international audience, gain international recognition, and have the opportunity to win seed investments.

    First place: $40,000
    Second place: $20,000
    Third place: $10,000

Innovating Justice Boostcamp Lagos

In October 2015, HiiL will host an Innovating Justice Boostcamp in Lagos. Speakers will share their insights. Incubation sessions will boost the progress of the attending innovators. Innovators receive coaching and pitch their innovations.

Six innovators will be invited to the Boostcamp – three winners of the online campaign and three wildcard nominations. The six innovators will be hosted in the same accommodation so that they can continue to work together, exchange lessons learned and share opportunities during the rest of their three day stay.

The winners of these challenges receive the Innovating Justice Awards 2015. They will have access to an international network, to build international partnerships and learn from other attendants at the Forum.

Online campaign

From 1 to 17 September 2015 innovations will campaign online on www.innovatingjustice.com. The top three of the online campaign will be invited to the Innovating Justice Boostcamp in Lagos. Three wildcards will also be invited.
