2015 Adobe Youth Voices Awards for Creative use of Digital Media.

The submission deadline for content produced from 2012 through 2014 is March 9. For content produced in 2015, the deadline is April 20.

The Adobe Youth Voices Awards honors youth who make original, outstanding digital media to creatively express their vision for positive change. Adobe Youth Voice invite you to create media to inspire, inform, and generate solutions.

Requirements

  • The competition accepts entries in four visual storytelling methods: Documentary, Animation, Narrative and Visual Composition, which includes photography and graphic design.
  • It’s open to youth ages 13 to 19 who want to use the power of digital media to drive awareness of social issues important to them.
    • Students must partner with an educator to submit media projects
    • Educator can be from any NGO, student, or youth organization
    • Participants may submit multiple projects
    • Participants may submit to multiple categories
    • Any software may be used in the creation of projects
    • There is no cost to submit media

Benefits

  • Winning projects will receive grants to support a nonprofit of their choice, hardware and Adobe software.
  • All winners will receive hardware, Adobe Creative Cloud, and cash grants to nonprofits that will support their vision for change.
  • Venture prize winners will also receive mentorship from Ashoka Youth Ventures. In addition, both prize winners and finalists will become eligible to apply for an Adobe Youth Voices Scholarship.
  • The Adobe Youth Voices Scholarships Program supports the next generation of creatives with scholarships towards post-secondary education.

Adobe Youth Voices Awards will be awarded to three projects per category:

  • First Prize Category: Chosen by individual judges
  • Second Prize Category: Chosen by individual judges
  • Audience Award: Chosen by audiences worldwide

  • 3 Samsung Galaxy Tabs
  • 3 licenses for Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Cash Grant to non-profits that will support their vision for change*
  • Individual Adobe Creative Cloud licenses for students**
  • Eligibility to apply for an Adobe Youth Voices Scholarship***

Second Prize Category: Chosen by individual judges

School/organization will receive Youth artist(s) will receive
  • 2 Samsung Galaxy Tabs
  • 2 licenses for Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Cash Grant to non-profits that will support their vision for change*
  • Individual Adobe Creative Cloud licenses for students**
  • Eligibility to apply for an Adobe Youth Voices Scholarship***

Audience Award: Chosen by audiences worldwide

CREATE YOUR SUBMISSION:
Categories: Decide which category you’d like to enter (as described below). If you’d like  to enter more than one category, you may do so, but each entry must be submitted separately.
All media must have been created on or after January 1, 2012. After you’ve decided on a category, make your own unique video(s) or non -video submission(s) (“Submissions”) in any of the following categories, making sure you follow the rules provided in the section below entitled “ Submission Guidelines.”™

o Visual
Venture – an invitation for five-minute video submissions that pitch a solution to a social problem. Entrants are asked to propose a plan for implementing the solution over a year’s time and illustrate the expected impact. Venture winners will receive funding, hardware, Adobe software and mentorship from Ashoka’s Youth Venture to support the execution of their proposed plan.

Key Dates

  • February 2, 2015 – Submissions Open
  • March 9, 2015 – Media created between 2012-2014 due
  • April 20, 2015- All projects created in 2015 due
  • May 11, 2015 – Finalists announced and audience voting begins
  • June 15, 2015 – Voting ends
  • June 22, 2015 – Winners announced on the website
