2014 ARTerial Network Paid Part-Time Research Internship-Kenya

What: Arterial Network Kenya is offering a 3-month part-time research internship.
The internship begins 1st of October 2014.

The opportunity will involve documenting and creating a visual representation of creative events in Nairobi. The objectives of this exercise are to research, aggregate and disseminate concrete data that informs the description of Nairobi as a creative and cultural hub.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual will be part of an Arterial Network Kenya team that develops and implements a county level research study on various creative/cultural sectors.

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • Designing the research methodology
  • Conducting both online and offline research on programs and services of various segments of the local artists and arts organizations
  • Evaluation of events and projects organized by local artists and arts organizations
  • Keying in relevant and accurate information
  • Analyzing survey data using appropriate methods of statistical analysis
  • Visually presenting data summaries and reports
  • Developing new and innovative ways to share information

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Arts , business, or a related field
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience conducting research
  • Interest in the cultural and creative industries
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Additional Information:
  • This is a part time paid internship.
  • The intern will sit and work from the Arterial Network office located at Kuona Trust Art Centre
